How do you like that Line 6 Pod?

I have owned 4 Line 6 Pod variants to date, a Pod 2.0 first, then an XT Live (floorboard version of that one) and 2 Pod XTs (I had one, sold it, then realised that was a stupid thing to do and bought another one). It's the one piece of gear I know I'll never be able to be without.

Regarding the sound, the converters of my soundcard definitely make a difference. I used to own an Mbox 2, now using an Audiofire 2 and the sound is noticeably different (it also differs when using headphones).

It won't compete with a real valve amp mic'd up but I don't have the space, money or ability to crank a valve amp in my flat so it comes as close to that as you can get I guess. I pretty much "set it and forget it" when I want a new sound. Definitely a worthwhile purchase though!

The only thing I've been considering trying instead is the Damage Control Demonizer. Damage Control was a company made by engineers that left Line 6 to create a preamp with valves in it. The Demonizer looks pretty cool but it's a lot of cash to spend without having tried it out first! I also keep thinking to myself "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" and I've been using the XT for something like 5 years now?

I can send you some sample recordings if you'd like, send me a PM with your email and I'll send some tracks I've used the POD on.

does the Magic Mouse work well with clear glass desks? Seen a few of them in this thread, but dunno if you've all moved your mats.

The Magic Mouse doesn't work at all on glass desks. Clear or not - I have a white glass desk and I have to use a pad. Not to mention the MM's feet make the mouse a pain to move on glass, even if it did move the cursor.

Can the pull out be put on the other side? I really like the jonas since it's super clean and simple, but the pull out on the right won't work effectively with the way my room is set up right now.

EDIT: Nevermind, I just checked it out on the site and it can be moved.

Or you could do this with it:

I've got that same keyboard and mouse. Best KB/M combo ever!

Especially the old MX Revolution. I hate the new MX. My brother has one, and I don't know how he can survive without the second wheel.

Nice setup.. what are the specs on your mbp? and how do you use your setup? like pc for gaming and everyday, then mbp for travel?

:)

The MBP is a Mid2010 base model with a 500GB Hitachi Drive. I use it on the go (Uni) and for when I don't want to sit on the Desk to do Computer-stuff. Like browsing the web on my bed - like right now ;).

My PC is for heavy lifting, a lot of Handbrake and occasional gaming. It uses an overclocked Q6600 which is still plenty fast (4x3,6 GHz).

Yes I agree. I love the mouse. I think it is very funny that the trackpad of the new MBP got that new scrolling feature, something I already had since I got the MX.
I had the apple keyboard before but it doesn't really fit the Design of my desk and I think typing on the Dinovo is less exhausting. While writing Essays and doing Uni stuff you're using it for more than 10 hours and after doing this on the apple keyboard my fingers were burning - not anymore.

I just added an HP2310i Screen to my setup, replacing one of my old 19" screens, I'm now considering getting another 2310i to replace the other 19" screen in portrait mode.

Awesome setup, please could you tell me what you're using to have 2 external monitors plugged into the iMac? Would love to do the same! Thanks

How do you like the 2310i? Not seen many reviews on it. How does the picture compare to your iMac?

Either it's a Displaylink product (USB > DVI) adapter, or it's a Matrox Product (dualhead2go/triplehead2go). Displaylink is much cheaper, and you can connect up to 6 to your computer. The only drawback with Displaylink is that there is a lag on the monitors, which makes it ideal for surfing, IM, iTunes, standard def YouTube etc. As long as you don't watch anything that's too high quality or try to play any games, the adapter works really well :)

Thanks, that's awesome! Will have to look into it. :)

Gave the iMac to a family member and replaced it with a U2711 that I just hook up to my laptop now when I'm not on the road. Got tired of having two manage files between two systems, and wasn't 100% satisfied with any sync solutions so I decided to just use my laptop full time. Laptop now sits in a BookArc when at home. Still need to clean up the wiring.

Only had the 2310i for a couple of days, but so far I am very impressed. I have to admit, it looks even better than my 2 year old iMac screen. The colours are very bright, and the text is super sharp at 1920x1080 60hz.

I have my iMac brightness up full and still the whites aren't as good as the 2310i. Don't know if its just because the iMac, is now 2 years old and has been very well used.

I plan on getting another 2310i soon, and I am considering upgrading my iMac, to maybe a macbook pro and running the two 2310i HP screens on the macbook.

Need to get my iPad first though :)
