my powerbook 17 and iMac 27"

The 17" PowerBook/original MacBook Pro really is the most beautiful and functional laptop out there.

I really wish Apple would go back to the original design style: square corners, all silver, thin silver screen bezel.

^ x2. Great computer. Mine operates flawlessly 6 years on and still looks great. Many people who use it and are not familiar with Apple computers love the look and are disappointed with the look of the MBP designs when they investigate Apple's current line.

I had the same stand so I might answer this one. ;)

Yes of course it is possible, not very comfortable for longer typing though. Wouldn't recommend it without external keyboard and mouse.
The mStand is made of approximately 3mm thick aluminium which makes it very sturdy.
thanks very much for you input! i wouldnt mind getting one for my MBP - its sitting ontop of a software box, ontop of a shoe box, ontop of a desktop PC which is next to my desk :D

3mm thick sounds very weak to me :p but i will take your word for it!

It's a Logitech Illuminated keyboard.

Retails for around 180 AUD.

ah thanks man! damn that is quite expensive though hey. worth it do you think?

Yup, it's wired. Helps to keep it insanely slim though! :D

And no, unfortunately they don't do a mac version. It's a pleasure to type on though, the keys have a real quality feel to them as it uses logitech's 'perfectstroke' system.
i purchased a $15 logitech keyboard, and WOW  its feedback is incredible! not too soft, not too hard.

I got it for about £50 GBP, about the same as a wireless apple keyboard, which was worth every penny. Its a pleasure to type on, and since my office is also my home theatre its handy having the illuminated keys so I can instant message while watching a film! The SetPoint software that comes with it also enables you to customise how it deals with the function keys too. Its barely a centimetre thick so looks really nice on the desk.

The original one I bought had the space bar issue - but logitech happily replaced it for free and even let me keep the old one! I have had it for almost 2 years now and do not intend to swap it unless I get a new Mac or it dies on me. Before this I tried lots of keyboards, but now for ALL peripherals I only look to Apple or Logitech :D

I have the same keyboard, and if you compare prices with the Apple Wireless Keyboard, it's only $10 more (that's the way I looked at it). I love the keyboard. Like someone else mentioned, the keys have an amazing feel/click to them! I used to have the wired apple keyboard, but now I prefer my Logitech. The Illuminated keys are also very nice! There are different brightness settings, and the best thing is (for me anyways), there are no batteries! If I had an illuminated WIRELESS keyboard, it would eat through batteries within a couple days. I prefer having a wired keyboard since you don't move your keyboard around too much (compared to mouse). I would recommend getting this keyboard, but try to look for better deals if you can. I think you can save about $10-20 if you look online!

interesting. is this SetPoint compatible with OSX? do the next/pause/etc buttons work?.

i might give it a look - maybe there is something cheaper on eBay, $150Au is a pretty hefty price tag, thats a 2TB hdd ;)

Finally!

I'm proud to finally be able to post in this thread. My first Mac ever. 27" i7, 4gb RAM, 1tb HD, 1gb ATI. Also just got an iPhone 4, alongside my 16gb iPod Touch. One thing I do need is a new desk...

Wow, Nikon D60... awesome details. You have a penchant for expensive toys and a great way into the world of Apple -- if you're going to do anything, do it big! ;)

Ha, I see a Toonie.. you're a Canuck.

What is the hardwood/chair mat? Looks really cool.

I made it. It's laminate flooring screwed onto particle board. It works real well but there is some slippage of the entire thing. This can be resolved by putting the plastic mat beneath it the has those teeth like spikes. A cheap one would due but I'm about to move and will install wood flooring in my office once I do.

Hey thanks!! You are right, I am a Canuck, but it is actually a peso from the Dominican Republic- very similar to a twoonie. If I HAD a twoonie, it would be used for a Tim's coffee!!

Duuuuude. I left some of those really old unopened Star Wars action figures up in my parent's attic. They worth anything? I know there's at least Leia, Fett, Obi Wan, and Vader in the red packaging similar to the ones above your monitor.

It's been a while since I've collected, I sort of just display what I have, but I do know that from the original red?orange lightsaber packages from the 90s, that if you have a Boba Fett with certain markings on his hands or any of the lightsaber-wielding characters with LONG lightsabers, they are worth a fair amount. You can probably google more information though, lol!
