Sorry guys, had to write that on danish, so much easier ;-)

I love letters that don't look like normal English letters :D (It doesn't take much to amuse me :p)

So in honor of the new cinema display, I cleaned off my desk last night, and put some wood polish down. Thought I would post a pic. Not as fancy of a set up as some you here, but it's a work-in-progress man cave set-up.

If you don't mind my asking how did you go about making your furniture? I've been contemplating designing and fabricating my own desk.

Well, I am an Engineering student and I use auto cad very often. I designed everything using auto cad, the shelfs, the L forniture, and other stuff that wasnt in the picture, i.e. the drawers at the right of the imac, they got wheels and I can pull it and use it like a table for eating in the bad or make some space for books when I am studying. Other hidden feature is above my lamp, in front of my bed, its a trunk where I can put some pillows and stuff like that. Under my TV there is a little room for my college books, my PS3 and my cable modem. And next to my tv there is some magazines shelfs.
I can take more photos if you like.
About designing your own room, I would say go for it. After you finish your sketch, you could take to an architect you know and ask him about colors, and which wood type to use...

dang dude, digging it! Colors and everything!
Thank you !

phoar! you must work hard to afford all of those! nice setup man. (Y)

I do... prices are insane in Denmark.

iPad was around 1000$ (not released here yet, so imported from UK, but just bought expenssive in a regular shop), iMac close to 4200$, MBP 3200$, MacMini Server ~1600$... USD... So yes, redicolous expensive, and lots of work behind to afford it! On the other hand it makes me completely happy, all works (right now I'm 200 km from home, and have access to anything, placed at home), etc. etc. etc...

But thanks for the comment!

MacBook Pro 17" 2010
iPad 16GB
iPhone 3G 16GB

EDIT: I apologize for the mess, I know people usually clean up for these photos but I figured I ought to show my desk as it usually is.

wow, nice machines you got there :) why does the 23" ACD seem so much larger than the 24" in the second picture?

Thank you! :)

I purchased that G4 2 years ago brand new. As hard as that may be to believe it was sitting in some studio's storage room and never saw the light of day lol. Unfortunately, the foam that it was packaged in kinda etched the side panels in a way that I couldn't buff out, and I travel with the machine in the trunk of the car a lot so it's not very pristine, but it's still pretty nice. :D

I like the machine, it's really not any noisier than my dual QS was when I had it (stock), but it's a REALLY noisy machine, especially by modern standards. I can't wait to replace it as far as the noise is concerned! lol

Still, it IS a pretty thing. When my old ACDs were stolen I went and looked for some new ADC ones because I preferred them to the DVI ones, and the 23" thus cost me way too much (and worse yet, it has a defect in the LCD!!!). *SIGH* Oh well. Maybe some day I'll look up the parts for a 23" DVI and sneak them in.

Thank you! Perhaps the angle and large rims? I'm not sure and I didn't notice until you pointed that out, however looking at it now you're right. it seems larger even just sitting in front of them. technically it should be the opposite.

Yes the MDD is VERY noisy. I used it for 3 years straight and got used to the noise, however now when I power it on I can't believe how loud it is. I remember when I had a friend over years ago and he commented "My mother is going to call you from across town and ask you to shut it off so she can sleep". :p At one time there was a recall for the power supply due to user complaints (apparently that's where the noise comes from), but I missed that. :(

P.S. I may be looking to sell my 23" ACD someday soon, I'm going to be moving not sure I want to take it with me. It has no dead pixels/stuck pixels but there are some blemishes on the bezel. Also I'm a smoker so I'm pretty sure the "clear" plastic is now yellow plastic. Good thing I didn't go for the 27" iMac earlier this year like I was planning to. :D
