It's only a temporary desk solution, but it's okay for now.

What made you decide to not put the iMac back in the window bay? Also, obviously you upgraded the iMac to include an SSD yourself... how difficult was it?

He's got only one window in the room, and it's tiny. Why block it with a big-ass computer?! I dunno about you, but I like light. It helps me see... and stuff.

Do you guys _always_ have your desk like that???

Wheres that other thread of what desks REALLY look like? My iPad is usually underneath papers/folders etc, theres a dock for it somewhere.

Going to change the MBP to a MBA in a few weeks and an iMac later to replace the prehistoric Windows machine.
Maybe I'll tidy up then :)

Haha, I'm studying for end of year exams, there is a slide out keyboard thing under the glass and I use that! Well that's usually stuffed with note books and a couple of text books but then I throw them on a corner of the desk or make room =D
I actually tidied it up about 3 days ago, but then it goes back to this, lol, lucky I have a stand for my MBP or that would be buried too

some new pictures

The new MBA (right) with the old one (left):

New MBA at work:

And my MacPro's monitors:

The MacPro with its external RAID (no internal drives). Silly fast; pushes 600-900 MB/s:

That's probably enough for now.

Not to be mean, but there is a big difference between work clutter and just having a mess that never gets cleaned up. I can pretty much guarantee you will be more productive if clean that up at least weekly.

I personally try to clear my desk each night and even though it doesn't happen every night, any folders/papers on my desk the next morning are related to short term tasks that will be processed no later than within the next 12 working hours.

Try it out, you might be surprised.

There's also a difference between getting things done for work (ie. separate, isolated tasks) and studying these days. Personally, when I'm studying for a big exam, sometimes it is just easier to have everything strewn about like that. Page flipping can become a chore when time is of the essence.

But given the fact that KandyKane appears to also have flyers, bills, money, etc. lying around... I'm guessing she COULD do with a bit of cleaning up. :)

lol, the $20AU is worth more than $20US right now!! (by like .2 of a cent)
I didn't realise they didn't do Mount Franklin water anywhere else?

Haha, I have exams the next couple of weeks, 3 weeks ago I quit my job of 7 years to concentrate on studying and somehow I ended up getting poached for a new job this week :/

I cleaned it 3 days ago, then again tonight. A couple of hours later it turned into that picture again (well not _as_ bad)... lol. Now it's almost 2am and physics is making me sleepy so I just got up and went to watch some physics videos in bed for a test in the morning, tidy up tomorrow... After I study for the Chemistry test... and then I have a 50% Health assignment so after that maybe...

Haha, the reason why there's money on the desk, is my friend dropped it off to me just before the photo and I took a study break and was reading this thread, dropped everything and took the photo :) I kind of gave up on the mail, I was sticking them on that red notice board behind the MBP but they all fell down and I just left them there. I moved houses 3 months ago and the removalist put my filing cabinet is still under some boxes, a TV, my couch and all being blocked by a bed, so I've been putting the bills in a folder, but I'm a procrastinator so just throw them kinda out of the way.

I guess my idea of tidy is just to move everything out of the way for a few hours, lol. I'll reorganise and file everything after my exams, tests and assignments are finished.
Or I'll just come up with another excuse to not do it ;) I blame genetics!!

Is it just me or does that bookcase look like it's about to give up with all that weight lol?

This is (an old, terrible shot of) the normal state of the window in my setup:

So maybe it's just me then.

Actually, the window is one of the many windows in the room. This is a very tiny bit of the room you see. I got 4 other big windows in the room as well:D
