Well, it said "2008 iMac Core G5" in the ad.

Ah, so a n00b then. Lol, okay.

My humble dorm room setup (or not... ;) )
<snip long list o' Macs>

I'm guessing you haven't got a roomie....

Though your description of your dorm sounds a bit like my bedroom and closet tbh. My PC friends look at me a bit funny when I tell them I have a 34-year-old Apple that still runs perfectly (Apple ][). I also have a ton of iMac G5s, but that's because I buy them, fix them, and resell them for money (better than working at McDonalds ), and of course I have all of the stuff in my signature :p

Nope, the entire approx 12 meters squared is all mine.... Itll probably get worse than this before the end of the academic year, as Im bound to have bought something else........ (Sometimes having a Job is a curse - means I spend far too much money at the apple store...) :p

Moved house so time for a new pic. This time without any of the wife's stuff.

Any England people out there, I am now in the tiny county of Rutland!

Anyway, the picture.

Looking good dude! but isn't it being by the window going to attract burglars? especially now they know where you live?

Rutland represent! Nice setup too.

Probably the best place for the nice glossy display. Mine gets crazy hard to see some days, even when angled slightly away from the window.

There are some spots in a local coffee shop that I avoid because of the display on my laptop. Sometimes it's bad enough to try to work at the house with the light on behind me...

Just started moving into my new office (across the hall) so this is what it looks like for now. I still need to move in the rest of my stuff. I have my MacBook Pro for personal use and to take on the road, and my ThinkPad T400 tied to my desk.

Current setup as of February 2011 (craptacular lighting and all as every single bulb in my desk lamps went dead).

To the far left just out of the shot is a 17" Apple Multiscan which is connected to a Graphite (AGP) G4. The 17" Studio Display LCD is connected to a 2002 Quicksilver G4 Dual 1GHz (pics of these here). My laptop is a 2.26GHz MacBook Pro, the Mac Pro is a 3.3GHz 6-core, and the 20" Cinema Display on the right side of the photo is attached to a G4 Cube.

I have to admit, back in the days I never liked the plastic G4 stuff, but after seeing more and more of them here, I want one of them Quicksilvers and an acrylic display!

They certainly aren't usable for my needs any more, but they look just gorgeous! Hard to find in good cosmetic condition and with all original accessories and boxing, though. :(

Musubi, what have you done with your G4?

And is the middle display a 30"?

A PowerMac G5, the memory controller heatsink came loose by way of a broken plastic clip. Now I've got to go find some stupid plastic nuts & bolts to hold it down properly (and maybe cut the foam back some so it doesn't snap them like it broke the clip!)

I'm really happy that's the only problem! The PSU was pretty clean and (although I didn't pull it apart) it and the rest of the machine worked great otherwise so it should be a great machine to use at my desk. :>
