Yea, it's a really cool machine, bought it for $50, dude that sold it to me said it was overheating and gave up on it. I figured eh, if all else I'll end up with a neat case and some stuff I can ebay..

So far it looks like I'll be able to keep the whole thing running, which is great because it's a lot faster than my DP867 G4!

Can't beat that... I've been trying to get my family to switch for years and they keep resisting me... they would probably resist for $50 too... I'm tempted to let the Geek Squad handle their machines...

I agree, nice lens and setup. Do you switch back and forth from the trackpad to the mouse frequently? I'm pondering upgrading my keyboard and mouse on my Mini to the wireless ones, While I'd prefer a bluetooth trackball, I've never been able to find one, and I'm already used to the trackpads. (Don't care for them much. I always bump the one on my MacBook when I'm typing...)

I only have one DisplayPort on my Mac and, correct me if I'm wrong, I don't think you can drive a 27" ACD at full res over USB.

If I had the money and an extra DisplayPort I'd be all over a dual ACD setup.

Current setup as of February 2011 (craptacular lighting and all as every single bulb in my desk lamps went dead).

To the far left just out of the shot is a 17" Apple Multiscan which is connected to a Graphite (AGP) G4. The 17" Studio Display LCD is connected to a 2002 Quicksilver G4 Dual 1GHz (pics of these here). My laptop is a 2.26GHz MacBook Pro, the Mac Pro is a 3.3GHz 6-core, and the 20" Cinema Display on the right side of the photo is attached to a G4 Cube.

Beautiful setup and I love Kung Poo ... or Karate Poo ... I can go all day on that one! :D

I would prefer to mount the 70-200 on my 20D, even though it is an f/4... I can imagine the looks that you get from people when you start drinking out of a lens...

I would honestly prefer my Logitech trackball if it were bluetooth. I'm getting to a point where the wires are driving me nuts. I wonder why they've never made a bluetooth trackball... Is bluetooth not standard on PC's yet?

Not BT, but they use a tiny-tiny nub wireless usb thing.

Thank you for that. It's been a while since I looked. Even with these "micro receivers" I'd be hesitant to leave it in the USB port of the laptop. How much larger can a BT transmitter/receiver be that no one has put it in a trackball... I keep throwing around the idea of putting the trackball I have now on my Mini as my Magic Mouse typically gives me problems...

Nice! I got a couple lens coffee cups, too. You can't see them as well in the photo I posted, though. It is funny that everyone thought yours was a lens. I posted a photo in a thread on another forum that had an actual 100-400mm in the shot and everyone thought it was a coffee cup.:D

Is it just me, or does that MBP look very big for a 13" (assuming it is the one in your sig)

Maybe you just took it at an angle where it messes with my mind?

its just the angle.it looks like its elongated since i used a canon 17-40 f4 lens on a 1.3x sensor.

@jgould: thanks again for your kind compliments.70-200 f4 is perfect on a Canon 20D.But as for me, since I have my 70-200 2.8L, sans I get the 70-200 f4 lens mug just to get a feel of having the 70-200 f4L even though its jus a mug.hehehe

@Uofmtiger: haha..yeah coz the 70-200 f4L lens mug is close to the size and the physical features of an f4L lens if you look from afar.:D
