You have an iPad and Kindle? But why?

I use Kindle for reading books, and iPad for everything else. Maybe I have overly sensitive eyes, but I just find the e-ink display sooo much nicer for reading books on, and easier to sit and hold on the couch. Love my iPad for everything else though :)

Ok so bare with me folks, It's an eMac I know and its only in its temporary home until i sort out a new desk etc.
However it is new to me, As I'm a mac virgin lol...

And I'll try to get a better pic next time lol.

I'm not the OP but I can see a benefit of this (as I have considering it myself). The kindle is cheap with crazy battery life. You can just leave that thing in your glove box just for emergency times of boredom. Plus, I would take a kindle to the beach but not my iPad.

Nothing wrong with an eMac, welcome to the light side! :)

I love the eMac! Used to have one, loved it. Think of it this way - you have a more unique Mac because there's not as many around now.

Plus, I would take a kindle to the beach but not my iPad.

I can think of something much better to take to the beach.

New to the iMac and liking it so far. The M-Audio AV40s are pretty amazing. :D

I changed things up again. The Mini is now over with the networking gear, and is headless. The 19" monitor is attached to the Macbook. I'm leaning toward the 13" MacBook Pro and ordering a Henge Dock for it.

Current setup:

eMac's are great machines. I owned one for 4 1/2 years and it never once let me down.

Just got the G5, still need a giant hex driver to take it apart and figure out what's causing the memory heatsink to get so dang hot. Oh, and yea that green glow is a spare fan :> It helps (oddly), but the temps are still hanging around 60-65c!

Here's a much better picture of my setup during study time. My Craigslist iMac is humming along perfectly! And Jessica, why don't you replace that old white Apple keyboard? Those things are horrible to type on! There are plenty of inexpensive alternatives out there, and you can use OSX to swap the location of the Command and Control keys.

Wow that is a cosy little set up there! Nice

My apologies for the truly terrible Droid picture.

Anyway, just picked this sucker up for $350. I've never had a G5/Intel iMac with a chin before! Amazing considering the amount of computers I've had over the past few years.

2.4GHz 20" 2GB/250GB

An aluminum iMac for $350? That's crazy  I check my local Craigslist for iMacs daily and I believe the cheapest aluminum one I've ever seen was $600. Where'd you get it?

BTW, how could you have had a G5/Intel iMac without a chin, considering every iMac G5 since the earliest G5s has had a chin? Or was the implication that you'd never had an iMac above a G4 before?

EDIT: Just saw your other post saying the iMac had hard drive issues. Makes sense you could get it cheap then. My second question still stands though :p

What is the giant cheeseburger?

If you're looking for bass, you don't want studio monitors. Get some Logitechs or something.

well i'm not necessarily looking for over-the-top bass just more of a presence of it (the only example i can think of is with laptop speakers and that they clearly don't put out any noticeable bass), if that makes any sense?

Well, it said "2008 iMac Core G5" in the ad. Despite that, about 30 people emailed him in an hour, but I was the first one to contact him. He said it might need a HDD eventually, my issues are fixed though.

I've never had an above G4 iMac before. :p

It appears to be a giant cheeseburger.
