Awesome :D I was going to go with a G5 case but double the money and quite a few that I saw were scratched....

And yeah, hopefully with run Mac with a vanila kernel :D

Wait... new i7's ....weren't the new sandybridge revisions lainched like 2months ago??

I've wanted to do the same thing for the past couple of years, but with either a G5 or Mac Pro. Never much liked the G4 tower designs (except maybe the MDD), even though I've owned a couple Quicksilvers and a Digital Audio.

I presume you're going to wait a couple weeks for the Sandy Bridge relaunch, rather than go with last year's i7? And you'll make it a Hackintosh?

I was inspired by mdwsta4's setup and decided to change mine up a little bit. An mStand really makes all the difference.

Is that the first iPad 2 we've seen in this thread?

And I really need to pick myself up one of those stands for my 13".

There was a recall, something about Sata ports 2-6 failing prematurely. IIRC Sandy Bridge should be relaunched in a couple more weeks.

The WhitePad just seems a bit out-of-place among the rest of your setup. Mind if I ask what prompted you to go white?

Maybe I should look into one of these mStands to hold the MacBook in open mode and still use the external monitor... I'm always looking for a better way to be more efficient than what I already have...

Had the 1st gen iPad. Wanted a change, very very happy with it. The little ones too, which is who it's mainly for.

My setup last week was a Mac Mini, no iPad or MBP so desk is all out of order and space. Changes to come, I have some plans that I think will balance it out.

Totally overhauled my setup went from a dual 20" display desktop machine to a lean mean laptop and led-lcdtv.

Brought my monthly avg electric bill down 10 bucks

Yep, not 100% equal to the real ones but still great in a quality in proportion to the price.

The real ones are worth it though, not great for travel (I've got P5s for that) but for sitting at the desk when you can't turn up the speakers they are awesome. That being said I got mine for half off with their industry affiliate program last year, I still think they are worth the full price though.

Anyone looking for travel headphones, check out the B&W P5s. These things are perfect for travel, have a build it mic and remote, and require no batteries. The battery part might sound stupid, just wait until you get on a cross country flight and they die. I picked them up at CES in January after losing my Bose QC3s (I think I left them on the plane) and haven't looked back.

Here is a quick picture of my latest home setup ....

Oh Damn... Didn't know that.. Do you know if they'll still be using a 1155 socket? I've spent more time looking for motherboards than CPU's as I thought I knew what I wanted :D

Haha yeah sorry about that... I own a MBA currently and I'm not (I dont think :p) One of those noobs oging round saying.. Can I haz mac on my PC? ;) :D

Thanks ;) Haven't really thought much about that yet... I know I'm going to have to remove the current mounts with a dremel... I'm sure I'll find away :p

Kind of hypocritical but I find it slightly annoying too (ish) :p Just thought if I'm using an old G4 case, and intel insides. May as well have it running OSX :D

Hm... looking at Newegg just now, it seems they have the i7 2600 back on sale, along with some motherboards. I thought they were supposed to take longer than that. Sorry, I haven't spec'd out a computer for the past two weeks

A while back I switched up my desk, sold my MBP (due to uni giving me a Laptop to use) and got myself an iMac.
My cable management skills suck, so don't mind any of it, lol. I think once I get a different desk I will rewire everything.

My setup -
21.5" iMac
Magic mouse/Keyboard (Will be getting trackpad soon)
23" HP w2338h Monitor
PS3 (Behind the monitor)
Logitech speakers behind each monitor (will be replacing them soon and mounting them on the wall)
Logitech Driving force wheel for GT5 :D.

Sandy Bridge CPUs have been available almost continuously since they were first launched, though motherboards were quite hard to find once the news broke. They've been coming back into stock for a week and a half or so though.

.Max.: they're not going to change sockets simply for a recall. :)

Also, if you're looking to build a hackintosh based on Sandy Bridge, I'd look at TonyMacX86. Though be forewarned –*you have to jump through rather more hoops than you would with an 1156 or 1366-based hackintosh.
