I recently reinstalled my old MacBook Pro 15" with SL. I actually sort of forgot I had this MBP laying around. It hasn't been used in 2+ years.

Also, I replaced the Harman Kardon Soundsticks II with the Hercules something speakers. Good choice. They sound great.

What do you see:

- MacBook Pro 1,1 2006 15" 2.0Ghz Intel Core Duo w/ 500GB HD (new one)
- iPad 1 64GB WiFi
- iPhone 4 16GB
- iPhone 4 32GB (used to make pictures)
- iPhone 2G in the box (8GB AT&T model)
- iPhone 3G 16GB White in the box (NL model) <-- needs new screen
- iMac 27" 2.93Ghz i7 w/ 12GB RAM 80GB SSD + 1TB HD.

MBP + iPad + iPhone 4

Here's my setup. I just got the MBP recently. It was a refurb 2010 model.

What'd you use the Intel CPU for? Or is that an SSD box?

If any of you were still interested... Just took the plastic off of the Powermac and am spraying the inside and outside of the case all white apart from the mounts and holders etc. which will all be metallic blue :D

I did something similar. I had a server that acted as the file server for the house. I had a Mac Mini that sat running all the time. The server was a P4 with a 400 watt power supply. I pulled the 1.5 TB drive and put it in an enclosure and started using the Mini as the file server... The only bad thing about this arrangement: Windows flie sharing is funky under OS 10.6.6 for me... Other than the slowness of using an external drive, everything is perfect.

I have no clue as to the savings on my power bill... I don't pay attention...

simplified my setup. or rather went back to the original as I had it prior to 2007 with my 8 yr old 12" powerbook now becoming the designated "desktop" computer. it's too old to be going out anymore.

my mid-2010 mbp is now sitting across on a side table:

got a razer deathadder recently for the occasional gaming sessions (HoN or CoD 4).
