Hmm don't have those problems with mine yet and the computer is 3 years old. I am a little concerned about the potential for the 8600M GT problem that might arise with this computer, but as I understand it, it will be covered by apple care. Other than that, this computer is great to use for being just $350.

Mine's almost 5 years old now, and I've had all of those problems, just not to a severe degree. Temps are starting to get a bit out of hand-- running at 79 right now even with a notebook cooler-- but it's HOT in this apartment (temporary living arrangement) so I won't complain. I plan to keep this notebook for another 3-4 years, if it lasts.

I would love the 17"! I have always wanted a 17 and even got a Santa Rosa one for a bit, but sold it for a cool $700. Someone wanted it even more ;).

My biggest regret has been not going for the 17". Two of my friends have them and they're amazing machines. But one of those friends is moving to a 12" Tablet PC (partially for school, partially because of the size/weight) so I guess it gets old after awhile

Finally got around to getting a new desk and taking away everthing that i didnt need. Im planning on getting a white iPad 2 with an orange smart cover to go in the empty spot on the right of the desk,Also for college and casual entertainment purposes,Just have to convince myself first :) :apple:

Nice setup. I like the mousepad a lot. Is it still available? Apparently the Razer Destructor used to be made in black. Also, is it pure white or does it have a silver tone?

It was hard to find the white one. I ended up getting it from a seller on Aliexpress (http://www.aliexpress.com/). It took forever to get here (came from China), and since I never shopped there before, I was pretty leery. It ended up being a good gamble as the item arrived as described (retail packaging including the carrying case).

As for the color, it's not a pure white. I would say it's mostly white with silver or grayish tone to it and the lettering is in silver.

I'm not even really a big Razer fan, it just turned out that one of the nicer "White" mouse pads I could find was made by them and then last week I scored the Mamba on sale during the Woot! off.

Plain and simple.

Considering change speakers to A2's. And need to pick up the shelf to hide my router behind the Mac.

New SSD iMac setup

Here is my new 27" iMac 3.4 Ghz, 256 GB SSD, 1 TB HD, AMD Radeon 6970M 2 GB. The monitor to the left of the iMac is a 27" Apple Cinema Display. The monitor to the right positioned vertically is a HP ZR22w.

I just got a 27' iMac wondering how you attached the screens as I don't see a dvi input?

There are two thunderbolt ports that also function as mini display ports on the imac. The Apple 27 inch Cinema Display has a male mini display port that I have plugged into one of the two thunderbolt ports on the iMac.

The HP ZR22w has DVI/VGA and display port options for output. I chose to use the display port instead of DVI or VGA because the cables just plug in, there are no screws to tighten. I bought this cable http://www.amazon.com/StarTech-6-Fe...YZ82/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1308968804&sr=8-9 from amazon. The male display port goes into the HP monitor and the male mini display port goes into the iMac's 2nd thunderbolt port.

Sounds like you have a DVI monitor. You can get an adapter like this one from amazon http://www.amazon.com/Apple-Mini-Di...1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1308969272&sr=1-1 I attached a picture of this cable so you can see how it works.

If you happen to have a VGA monitor as well you can get an adapter like this one from amazon http://www.amazon.com/Apple-Display...1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1308969175&sr=1-1

They have these adapters for sale at Best Buy and the Apple Store as well.

I love turning my monitor to portrait mode. Perfect for iTunes or long PDFs! :)

Exactly! I was thinking the 22" monitor might get in the way and take my focus from the two 27" monitors. After a few hours of playing with it I've just been using it for iTunes and I've been really enjoying it. I'll keep in mind that it will also be good for single documents like long PDFs. Thanks for the tip.

Does anyone have any pictures of a 20" ACD vertical next to a 30" ACD?

I needa find a monitor to flank the 30" vertical

Thanks for the quick reply, I have two of those leads, honestly had no idea they doubled up for that!.

@jord1985
Looks really nice and neat! I would lower the pictures on the wall with your computer, though. Good job on your setup. :)

Just moved and finished putting together a new desk. Here's my 2010 iMac, MBP, and Klipsch speakers. The TP-21 under the iMac is what drives the speakers. Sounds pretty good and can get crazy loud.

I'd love to replace the Acer with an apple or dell 27" display, but didn't realize how little room the desk has. Guess I'll need to get some speaker stands too.

One of my favorite workspaces is at Sizzler during the weekend. Unlike Starbucks, I get a big table, lots of space and decent food!

Got my new desk and printer table in and stuff transferred over to it. Gotta redo the stuff on the walls and might tweak the placement of tech but gonna feel it out for a bit first.

Just a 21.5" 2010 iMac, I have a 13" MacBook Pro too but that's at work at the moment.

Tablet is a Wacom, main mouse is a Razer Imperator (It's great for gaming, and generally just a very precise mouse), I use my Magic Mouse for general browsing etc but it doesn't see much use.

The lamp is the newest edition! It's gorgeous! :)

I've recently updated a few things. I picked up a new chair, an Apple battery charger, another printer, an external HD for the iMac, some RAM for my iMac and MBP, upgraded my speakers and picked up a wireless keyboard / mouse combo for my loft area set up.
