I'm a software developer by the way, and though my colleagues manage to make do with what they're outfitted (cf. photos), I preferred to spend the extra mile for something I can enjoy working with day in day out.

Are those displays Dell SP2309Ws? With the 2048x1152 resolution? If so, I can understand why I couldn't find any available for sale when I wanted to buy one a few months ago

Are they all driven by the MBP? If so, how? Just a lot of USB->DVI adapters?

WAY TO GO! If you're hips-deep in code, then you need as much screen space as you can get XD

I wished I knew better about those monitors. The 2048px width is no longer a must have outside of landscape compared to 1920x1200 screens, then I would have taken non glossy screens with bases high enough to support portrait out of the box and with IPS panels because TN and portrait don't hang around together. If I had went portrait from the beginning I would have had less head turning and they would have fit on my desk without contorted workarounds, but at least I have five more webcams now...:p

Mini DP output plus the four DisplayLink adapters supported on mac os (all plugged to an ExpresCard->4 USB adapter to maximise bandwidth AND minimise cables to plug)

I'm amazed at the resistance I can face when trying to spread this message

I gotta agree, I actually did not even know there were scores for posts. I just come to macrumors to get help, see if anyone else is having a similar issue as I am, and to see folks cool setups. Not sure I see the purpose in scoring.

I am assuming the purpose for the voting is; you vote up if you like someones purchase on this thread or like someones setup (or in the PRSI section if you agree with what someone says), or vote down if you don't like what someone posts. I personally think it is useless but it is kinda frustrating when you have a bunch of no-life trolls who down vote everything without reason.

Man I hate those keyboards. How can you stand typing on them?

I hate it too. It was there when I got the job. I'm really thinking about switching it out with my aluminum one from home.

I like the color mix! closed to nature :)

light~ green~

Thanks, but I can't take credit. Only been working there a week and it was from whoever was there before me. Except the Mountain Dew lol.

This may be a really stupid question, but where does everyone get those stands for their MacBooks? The ones that stand it up vertically when closed. I would definitely like one when I get my new monitor.

My setup. Nothing special or fancy, not even very clean. It usually looks worse with more papers and cups of coffee lying around.
Ill prolly move the old one again as i dont use it that much.

I LOVE this setup!
Once I move and have enough room, this is similar to what Im going to have, But with a 20" Mac and either a 1200 or 600.:D

My lady's had that exact same lamp too; of course it melted when she added a regular bulb.

iCole, what is the machine to the left of your iMac? I notice the SNES style gamepad.

That lad is only a Commodore AMIGA.
Google it. ;)
