Just a random though, but does the glass work if you put like a black paper taped underneath it? If you wanted to keep a clean surface, maybe this would work? It seems like it would work. I just have a hard time seeing any mouse pads that i like and/or go with my setup.

No, paper on the underside does no good. At least not on my desk.

I used to have a round, transluscent white mousepad. It was very thin and worked pretty well. Think it was called a Wowpad. Might want to look that up.

Sorry for the crappy light!

My 2011 21.5 base iMac and late 2011 MBA. iPad 1 32 gig WIFI behind the MBA and iPod touch sitting in Bose Dock to the far right.

That's my Mac mini on the right screen and my homebrew PC on the left. I'd love to get rid of the PC completely, but it's better for gaming ATM and my work email requires a CAC and .mime decoding middleware that isn't out for the Mac just yet.

The rest of the hardware is an iPad 2 in an Otterbox Reflex case and an iPhone 4S in a Seidio Impact case. The monitors are a Dell 2209WA on the PC and an LG IPS231 for the Mac. I've got two Bose desktop speakers inverted and tucked in behind the monitors.

Awesome setup. What desk is that? What do you use for lighting behind your Mac?

Thank you. :) At the Flickr page/link there are the names :p anyway the desk is the Sicea LOCK , photos: http://www.giuliomagnifico.it/wordpress/?p=166 (english direct link to the product with the specs, if it still works http://www.siceagroup.it/en/product/lock, in the dark color "oak painted wengè" ), and the light is the simply led stripe from IKEA (I don't remember the name, maybe Dioder? or similar, the one without the color controller).

sorry, for re-posting -- didn't realize there was a new thread

i can't share a picture, as i don't have it all set up yet... but the computer details are below, and here's some stuff i ordered.

100160.jpg

i got the A2s. i really wanted the A5s, but the more i considered it, they were just impractical size-wise. my room is really really small, and i don't have anywhere to put them.

also ordered this:
D1+front-600.jpg

and these:

I have decided to downsize my setup quite a bit, and went to this:

IMG_0614.jpg
IMG_0615.jpg
20" iMac
Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4Ghz
4GB of RAM
250GB HDD

Apple iPad 16GB
Apple iPhone 4 8GB - Factory Unlocked

I have decided I didn't need a MacBook Pro anymore, so I sold it. The iPad pretty much has gotten me covered in terms of mobile usage. I don't need more than what the iPad offers when I am mobile, at least I still have an iMac to come home to :).

Went to a Surplus yard and bought some Apple XServe G5 servers, planning on putting these into service soon. Yes, it is overkill, but come on, overkill doesn't kill you that much :D

NOT IN THE PICTURE:
Apple iPhone 4
HP Photosmart C310a
Various other Macs around the room/house.

Just a humble little setup in my room. The ViewSonic 24' monitor looks curved, but believe me it's completely straight with the desk. I did tilt the iMac though.

Hey,

if you don't need the money - keep it.
If you don't need 27"+15" keep your MBP closed.

I was in the same situation 3-4 years ago with the 24" ACD and I have decided to keep it - and I love it. It is just great for working, watching movies, .... Hopefully the MiniDisplay Port will be supported for a long time, so that I can use it.

Sorry for my poor english

My New Desktop.

If you don't need it send it to a good home like mine ;):D

I've STALKED the hell outta these setup threads for as long as I can remember and I have to say I am obsessed with looking at all the awesome setups some of you guys have on here.

I finally got an iMac today and my first desk since high school! Here's a couple of pics I just snapped with my iPhone, so pardon the crappy quality, but you get the idea. I know it's kinda plain and sterile but thats how everything else in my home is.

Are the LED light bars placed on the desk or the computer themselves? Where did you put all the cords?
