thats really awesome. I always wanted to have a space like that. the trouble with sheds is they are 102 degrees in the summer and -10 in the winter. however it looks like you got that figured out with all the insulation and everything. They have some really nice cabanas if you want to spend serious money. I definitely want to see finished pics as its something I always wanted to do.

Yeah the heat/cold was the biggest worry. I ended up going with some pretty expensive insulation that's designed to stop heat getting in during Summer, and hold heat in during winter - fingers crossed it'll be ok. Worst case scenario is that I'll have to get a small aircon unit for summer, not that it gets all that hot here in the soggy UK! :p

I'l add some more pics to the thread once I get it done. I'm just waiting for the electrician to wire the room up at the moment.

Very cool idea! Any worry about people breaking in though?

Thankfully we're in quite a nice neighbourhood, however I've got an alarm system going in with 2 PIR sensors, and magnetic sensors on the door and window - it's hooked up to an alarm outside and in the house, and sends a SMS to 3 phones if it's triggered. I've also got a nightvision webcam which will be hooked up in the corner running on a Raspberry Pi dev board. It'll then stream the video feed to a network drive I've got in the house, and should be able to store a good 50 hours of footage.

I've also got another lock going on the door - it does have a standard lock but I'll be adding a second 'dead-bolt' style lock.

Hopefully I'll never need all this but you never know!!

Hey all

this is my set up a 2010 iMac, 2012 Macbook retina, and my first iPad (3rd gen) which has my grubby finger prints all over it.

Wow, you know what I just noticed. On the Retina MacBook Pros, the branding of "MacBook Pro" is no longer there. I was looking at this and thought, why does this look different.

He wasn't very clear in what he said, what he means is that in the image the thickest part of the Air (at the hinged end) sits taller than the Retina MBP, so it's 'height' is actually taller than the rMBP regarding thickest point comparisons. Scroll up to see the OP's pictures!

Yes, that's what I mean. I know the rMBP is fractionally thicker than the Air, but I guess due to the taper of the Air the back sticks up and the rMBP looks thinner.

2x2tb Time Machine backup
JBL Spot 2.1's
HDMI out to a 55" Bravia sat nextdoor.

Temporary Setup...

Since my room is being "re-done" I'm setup in the living room with a fold out table. Hopefully I'll be able to move back in next week. Additionally, I apologize for the lighting in the pics.
