My simple desk...

Don't have an Mac Pro...

Love the 'footrest/cable protector'! I should rig up something like that under my desk. (Yes, I've been known to kick a cord loose every so often...)

If only you had the black Western Digital external drive, it would be perfect. :D

Looks good but aren't you worried about the heat from the receiver? There doesn't seem to be much 'breathing room' for the heat to escape..

And where did you get that monitor stand? It's exactly what I was looking for. :)

Looks like he made it himself.

I did something similar with the following Ikea products..btw, it works great.

It's super sturdy, barely moves, and has never fallen/tumbled.

Your setup is amazing. Very clean. What keyboard and mouse are you using?

Thank you. :)

The keyboard is a Filco Majestouch Tenkeyless with brown switches, by far the best keyboard I've ever used.
The mouse is a CM Storm Spawn.. bought it because it was cheap and tiny. It's okay if you really like claw grip, but I've tried multiple firmwares on it and there always seems to be at least one thing the firmwares get horribly wrong.. It's done its job, but I wouldn't get another one if this broke. :)

-Mid 2011 MBA (max spec)
-iPad mini wifi 16gb
-iPhone 5 16gb
-apple magic mouse
-beats pill
-beats wireless

Love the new and improved set up!

Is that the IKEA keyboard tray? If so, how sturdy is it?

Thanks and yes it is!

It is plenty sturdy to support items however moves quite a bit side to side when typing on it. Not enough to bother me however.

If only you had the black Western Digital external drive, it would be perfect. :D

Note the 1tb portable drive next to the WD Studio drive ;)

The receiver has some of the heating ducts opened up, but it also always runs very cool. If it needs more room I can shim up the upper stands legs.

And yes, I used 6" capita legs and this shelf:

But where will you keep your beer now?

Fridge is right behind my seating area, beer is safe!

I posted this in another thread but since I'm using this thread for inspiration thought I would post here as well.

In order to make use of all the drawer space I've run a Magsafe charging cable into the left nook where I have an additional 15" MBP (my wife's). This allows us to hide the MBP that isn't currently being used while at the same time offering a place to charge it.

I have one remaining thing to do - which is to get a apple-esque USB extension cable (going to get one from amazon) so I can charge my iDevices in the top right drawer - instead of having them on the desk. I know I have the room for them but we are going for a minimalistic look and I also have 3 toddlers running around which means we can't leave stuff out else it might end up missing.

I'm also thinking about getting a stand for our MBPs - which I think I would like because it would raise the height of the MBP display to be more in line with the thunderbolt display - but I'm thinking I might not like the less minimalistic look. Besides, when I run Windows for gaming I turn off the MBP display so it's not like I use both displays all the time.
