I don't like wall mounts and it's just the right height. Also only way I'd be able to hide those visible wires is if I went wireless on everything, including the iPhone cable from the thunderbolt dock.

I keep seeing this wallpaper everywhere, but can't seem to find the source. Do you have a link to where I can get the different sizes?
Today my Asus PB278Q arrived. But I'm not sure if I keep it.
Hmm ive been wanting to buy that monitor for awhile, but cant seem to take the plunge.
Sometimes, when I pull my MacBook out of its sleep, the monitor just stays black. Weird: I can move the cursor from my woke-up MacBook screen to the monitor's screen - which is just black but shows the cursor. Really weird. Maybe it's the because of the displayport cable I use instead of HDMI. Have to test that.
Also, I'm thinking about spending not so much money on a monitor because soon I'll (hopefully) finish my Master's degree. I was planning to buy a new iMac then.
My setup:
A 2011 Mac Mini with a 27" Iiyama 2560 x 1440 display. Speakers are Elac AM150 active speakers and a AudioPro sub under the table. By the left side of the table is an old Windows 7 pc and on top of it is my mid 2009 MacBook Pro.
On the table is my iPhone 5 and my company issued iPad 4, 64GB with cellular. Not show is my company issued iPhone 4S as i use the 5 with the company sim. On there is also my BOSE QuietComfort 15 in the case.
On top of the shelves is my Airport Extreme 5th gen. Then my old HP printer and under that is a company issued Lenovo Thinkpad T420 notebook.
On the wall is some of my Think Different posters.

It comes in 27", I think but only 1080p. That's too low for me. Just set mine up:

Thank you very much! I think I'll stick to the Dell. The Asus (a few posts above) is of course bigger and has a better pixel density. But the 24" seems like a better addition to my 15" Retina MacBook. And it's less expensive.

I think 24 is a nice size I have one of the E series Dell monitors, even cheaper again! and I love it good quality for the price and like I say I think 24 is a nice size.

I would get a U3011 i think the model is. If you can afford it, the Apple display is quite old now.
