Love those old Logitech Z-2300's you got - was my first foray into high-end PC audio and man, that sub absolutely BANGS. Funnily enough the driver tech that Logitech used for their speaker drivers are from a company called 'Tang-Bang' - Not sure on the name lol.. But they're a nostalgic bit of kit for me.

A nice setup overall man!

How does the MBP handle the 5K, my late 13 struggles a bit with 4K so I have been thinking of upgrading?

5K is working flawlessly on the system. It seems the Radeon Pro 560 has much more power than the integrated Intel graphics chip. When using the attached ultrafine monitor it switches to the radeon chip with the higher performance.

I am not a gamer, so I can not really determine if it has enough power for playing ego shooters... But for multimedia and system animations it is really fast/brilliant. I am a happy customer :)

Thanks, good to know, I use the Mac for work (photoshop) and dev work. Will consider upgrading for sure :)

There isn't anything new about my computer setup, but a really gooding cleaning of my room. My computer table was getting really clutter and my computer screens were get really dirty. I must not have dusted in a year. I'm making it a New Year's Resolution to do a better job cleaning and dusting. Once I clean my monitors it was like I had a new computer even though it's a 2014 Apple 27" iMac with a 5K Display with a 13" Cintiq drawing tablet attached to it. Now I have to recalibrate my monitors for I'm sure the dirt on them was giving it a false color reading. :D

Well, having posted my work setup, I might as well post my evening/weekend study setup - 2017 15" MBP 2.9-16 // LG 4K Ultrafine.

Pretty much as close to the ideal setup as I could ask for. If I was to be greedy, I'd want either a second 4K in a vertical orientation, or the LG 5K as the main monitor and the 4K in vertical.

Got around to doing a bit of tidying up and thought I'd share.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/y7w2adwk88rimfx/IMG_2650.jpg?dl=0

I work from home, so left desk is work, right desk is personal.

From left to right:

  • MSI GT73 VR 7RF Titan Pro (work)
  • Phillips 32" Screen
  • HP 24" Screen
  • Brother MFC
  • DroboFS
  • Drobo5N2
  • Time Capsule + 2TB External Drive
  • Lacie 4TB TB Drive
  • 17" MBP (mine)
  • 13" MBA (girlfriends)
  • Mac mini with BenQ BL3200 Screens
  • iPhone 6S+ (just got a new battery and still in love with it. I looked at the X but can't see the justification in the 'upgrade')
  • iPad Pro
  • Apple Pencil
  • Apple Keyboard and Mouse

Desks are from Officeworks - https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop...professional-desk-1800mm-black-oak-kdsk18bkoa
Rack is from Bunnings. Below the desks (where the rack is), is power, etc
