Finally finished my porch-to-office conversion, rustic style. Homemade standing height desk, cork tile surface. And yes, I hate exposed cables and wires.

How it looked before starting the project:

Hard to get a shot from the opposite direction - but this is the wife's set up for working from home. So yes, we occasionally manage to share a work desk.

Love the classic iPod. Which model is it and does it still work?
Its a 5 gb 2001 1st gen iPod. My father bought it brand new in 200 1and passed it down to me when he bought an iPod Photo in 2004. It still works flawlessly with no hard drive issues.

My home setup. Need to upgrade with some cool back lighting and need a new comfy chair.

I keep toying with the idea of selling my MacBook and upgrading to a new 27" 5K iMac, saving my 12.9" iPad Pro for on the go. However, part of me does like to have the flexibility of a MacBook/MBP on the go! I do know I am tiring of the 12" rMBP, for sure.

Amazing! Love the monitor.

Thanks, received quite a bit of feedback on the monitor.

It's a 34" Samsung CF791 - Quantum Dot, curved 7Ultra Wide with a resolution of 3440 x 1440.

A lot of screen estate for both productivity related work and some quality gaming (hence the hackintosh). Keep in mind that you need quite a bit of horsepower to drive this kind of resolution in games though.

Not the best pictures, but it should give you an idea of the size and immersiveness of the screen:

(the one on the back is the screen of my misses, also a 34" ultra wide, a Samsung SE790)

Minimal changes but it has been a while now:

4CVPA5R.jpg

Ad4BJ6f.jpg

Mostly changed position of monitors, sold my TB Display after 6 years of use (a tear was shed), bought a Dell U2515H to fill the gap and floating on an arm like with the Dell P2715Q I already had.

Sold my MacBook Air 13" 2012 after 5 years and bought a MacBook Pro Retina 15" 2013.

Bought a QNAP TS451 to house the 4 x 3TB WD Reds which were originally in the Mac Pro. Mac Pro is not on 24/7 anymore, barely use it, but it's difficult to part with it, should I?

In search of a way to quickly switch all inputs between Mac Pro, MBP and my work notebook (Dell XPS 15 9650). Anyone any experiences with a decent 4K, audio, USB(3.0) switch please let me know! :)

The (temporary) setup this week:

isnKMdZ.jpg

Retina Macbook Pro (2014)
Apple Magic Mouse
Apple Wireless Keyboard
Dell Ultrasharp U2312HM (1920*1080, after 5 years still satisfied with it, even though I should have chosen the 2412, for the extra vertical space)
Coffee
2 vases with bamboo
1 candle
;)

All temporary, in the livingroom. Just because I normally hardly ever use the Dell. The third (bed)room in my appartment is currently to much of a mess :D

Well, here is my current workspace: I've made a few changes since my last post. I'm finally pretty happy with this setup: it's practical and looks pretty clean. The flexible arm form the external monitor does a lot to make it comfortable to read for long periods.

Macbook Pro 2016, maxed out except for the SSD: 1 TB
LG 5K monitor
Bowers & Wilkins Zeppelin speaker
Magic keyboard w numpad & trackpad & mouse
Bose quiet comfort 35 BT headphones
Ipad pro 12,9
Wireless fast charger for iPhone X

Mac Pro couldn't come with me to the Army barracks :( may get a early 06 mbp for the DVD function but for right now I'm living the ghetto Pvt life

I remember the Pvt life. At least the Army is considerate enough to take up most of your time so that you won't miss your Mac Pro too much. When I was a PFC, I had an electric word processor in the barracks, because my Amiga 4000 would have taken up too much space. OMG. I'm so old...
