My updated desk setup now that I’ve replaced my 2017 15” rMBP with a Mac Studio.

Love the wallpaper - do you have a link?

My current but likely temporary setup. I may have posted a setup here a really long time ago. But it has certainly changed since then. Seeing the many setups here makes me want a desk setup again. But having a laptop at least for me negates the need for a desk. Though I have thought of switching to something like a Mac Mini and using an iPad for portable stuff. I'm still using a 2015 15" MacBook Pro. It's got 16GB ram and 1TB SSD. I had to swap back to the original SSD to be able to upgrade from Mojave to Monterey. Was a pain but everything seems to work fine so far. The new colour palette of Monterey takes some getting used to. I wish there was a "classic mode" to go back to a Mavericks or prior UI. I much prefer it back then.

Nope, just a Philips Hue Gradient Lightstrip that syncs the desktop. The wallpaper is part of this collection.

I was under the impression that the Hue Sync app only supported a single color with the Gradient Lightstrip, and that you needed the Hue Play HDMI Sync Box (which presumably doesn't work with non-HDM displays like the Apple Studio Display). Your setup seems to indicate that this is incorrect? All I need to have the lightstrip sync with my display with multiple colors is the Hue Gradient Lightstrip, the Hue Bridge (which I already own) and the macOS Hue Sync app? I'm tempted to get the Hue Gradient Lightstrip now.

Correct. Just the Hue Sync app.

This is my office setup, specifically for client work. I'm renting an apartment so I can separate my work from home stuff (mostly indie games) from client work stuff (mostly game design and consulting). I was looking to get a Mac Studio and a Studio Display but 90% of my work at this office is mostly consulting and writing/editing design documents and the M1 Macbook Pro is already overkill for it. So i decided to save the money and wait to see for what comes at WWDC.

For my own games and more demanding work I still rely on my iMac Pro at home. If I'll get a more graphical intensive gig that requires a ton of level design with high quality assets I might look into a M1 Max or Ultra mac but I'm pretty sure I can still get by with my Macbook (honestly, there isn't such a big difference in performance between it and my Vega 64 iMac Pro).

Anyway this is it, simple and perfect for mostly meetings and document editing. When work is done, I put the M1 Macbook Pro in my bag, get home and use it to control my iMac Pro (home setup is here).

What is that monitor?

It's a Dell Ultrasharp 30", model number U3023E IIRC. It has support for P3 color. It's complete **** compared to my iMac Pro 5k display but it's good enough for office work.
At least it's probably better than my trash 21.5" TN panel HP N223 that has a loose HDMI port (constantly loses connection), that I never have gotten around to replacing.
