I also have a usb switcher glued to the bottom of my desk. A simple press of a button swaps my keyboard and mouse to my mac and back.

Love the setup, do you also have hdmi switcher or something to alternate your monitors feed as well?

My setup, first time posting to MacRumors, be nice.

On My Desk-from left to right-
  • 1TB Seagate GoFlex Desk
  • 24' BenQ G2400W, running in 1920x1200x32@60hz
  • AU$20 Bluetooth 3.0 Keyboard
  • AU$20 Bluetooth Speaker
  • Microsoft Wireless Mouse 3000
  • Just some fan system used to cool my constantly overheating laptop down, powered below by an old Pentium 4, in the future, will be running Snow Leopard
  • Dell Latitude E6400, inside specs include a 2.4 Ghz, Intel Core 2 Duo P8600 processor, with 3 GB of RAM and an NVIDIA Quadro NVS 160M 256 MB Discrete Graphics chip, running Yosemite 10.10.2, basically my Hackintosh.
Thank you, and sorry for the bad quality pics, used my iPhone 4S, and I'm in bad lighting conditions, since, you know, its better for the room to be dark...just my opinion..

I spend 10-12 hours a day at my MacBook Air (the only thing I've used for the past 5 years; I'm a programmer) and I spend most of that time standing up.

I'm all for reducing sit time but 10-12 hours? Doesn't that give you knee issues?

The workstation in our new house. Needs more prints on the walls and the mandatory cable management.

nice monitor. Ive been thinking of a lg34uc97 or a lg34um95 but I dont think a 2014 mac mini will drive it at its native resolution.

I just remember this is a past & present setup thread... This is my setup from 2010 vs 2015... I believe the keyboard and mouse is the same... Also have an iMac 2011 between these two setup that is still sitting in my other office...

Before: 2008 15" MBP with 24" LED Cinema display... the z5500 speakers just broken few weeks ago... had them since 2006.
Image

Current: 2013 13" rMBP with thunderbolt display for my second editing station... speakers are Kanto YU2...

This looks too clean. Nice setup

Added the Black 2006 Macbook to the Family, it's a pretty good machine, it's for my mom, she was constantly complaining about the Mac Cube being too slow.

The macbook is in pretty good shape, the foto makes it look worst than it actually is, it has 161 battery loadcycles, my 2011 Macbook Pro has 745!

Besides this 3 Macs, i have a G4 MacMini.
Sorry about the photo quality, i left my photo gear in my college room and i shot it with the 5S.

That can give you problems with the veins in your legs. - They will burst, just like barbers can have problems with this when they're older. Take a look at your grannies legs, she will have some.

Where did you get that little hutch thing that your monitor is sitting on??

Thanks for the upvote!

Its the "Lavolta Elevated Riser Platform Shelf Stand for Monitor Screen Display LCD TV 15" to 27" - Black" - you can also get it in white.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Lavolta-Elevated-Platform-Monitor-Display/dp/B00BLMZAH4/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1423487284&sr=8-3&keywords=lavolta+stand

I actually wanted this one, but it was a bit more expensive and not USB 3.0.
