What kind of stand is that under the iMac? Are those USB ports on either end?

So I started seeing the blinking problem you described.

I just got the HDMI connected, and it displays everything the same as it does with DisplayPort, so no worries :)

Is there any disadvantage to using an HDMI connection instead of the Display port-to-mini display port for a 1920 x 1200 display?

Other than needing to use an adapter, I haven't found any disadvantage. It still runs the full resolution (HDMI is basically DVI), and I have found that reds and greens are more properly saturated on HDMI with this monitor as well.

I appreciate your color input. I'm colorblind, but so it's difficult for me to calibrate/judge color. Especially reds.

Just hoping the next one is someone that uses cheap particle board stuff like myself instead of awesome fancy "wood" :p
