Downgraded to Audioengine A2+ from A5+ due to space issues on my desk. All is run by my 2014 rMBP workhorse.

This looks fabulous! How do you get that screensaver? Any concern with the A2+ not having enough base? I have the Swan M10s but the desktop subwoofer is kind of bulky for my small desk.

It's not a screensaver but rather a Chrome extension called Memento (if memory serves me right)

Momentum, but close enough ;) Yes, it's a Chrome extension which appears as your new-tab page. I did hide most things on it though. It's a great little thing. Check it out here https://momentumdash.com

The A2+ have less bass compared to the A5+, the A2+ have a more linear sound. The A5+ sound supergreat, even at moderate volume levels. But I had to install some bass traps in my little office space, because the bass was a bit too much sometimes. Of course the A5+ also have more massive sound pressure overall. However, the A2+ are fantastic for their size, that's why I got them. They are also less intimidating when sitting on your desk. And there is a DAC built in, so I can plug them directly into my Thunderbolt Display.

I see a lot of Mac folk wound too tight, were not all neat freaks!

Then again not all Mac folk are trying to start a fire in their homes just to get a tan on their lower extremities ;)

To be honest You're either VERY luck not to have a fire, or VERY UNLUCKY to not be featured in Apple's Toast commercial (burning Pentiums) ;) TO be real, do your family a favor to clean up the wires after all that expensive equipment burning I'm sure you don't want to burden them with a possible funeral. Be safe my friend!

The 13-inch MacBook Pro (Late 2011) has been replaced by a 15-inch MacBook Pro (Mid 2012). As far as specs go, it's identical to the very first MacBook Pro with Retina display but since I was able to transfer the 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD from my previous computer, it's a hell of a lot cheaper! I love how the old MacBook Pros are so easily upgradable so I'm hanging on to them for as long as I can!

Here it is in action – and to comment on the recent discussion: even then, I still try to keep my setup as tidy as possible. I find that it helps me keep my mind organized. Less distractions, more productivity.

My 10 year/2 generations old Canon iP90v bit the dust, so I went out and got its recently released replacement, the iP110. Nice to have a wireless/AirPrint printer finally. It's also both faster and quieter than the iP90v. You can also get an optional battery for it for truly wireless printing, but I don't need that since it's never going to leave the desk.

I had needed a printer for a while but refused to buy the previous iP100 because it had been for sale for like 5+ years at the point my iP90v was starting to go a couple years back, and I made that last another couple years before realizing just yesterday that Canon finally replaced the iP100 after like 7-8 years. Just a little disappointed that it's black, whereas the iP100 was silver which would match better...then again the iP90v was gold, albeit super subtle gold. All in all I can't complain, it's a solid upgrade and was a necessary purchase.

Now to replace this old mid-2010 MBP and 2008 LED ACD...

Nice desk. Homemade? Also where did you get the clock under the monitor and are those monitors any good? IPS?
The desk is from Ikea, but I sanded, stained, and polyurethaned it myself.

The clock is from here:
https://www.amazon.com/Divoom-Aurabox-Bluetooth-Speaker-Creation/dp/B011R7ALW6 - It's actually a lot more than a clock, but I just use it for the clock function. It is kind of annoying because it shuts off automatically after a day or so. My wife got it for free from work. It's not something I would've ever bought. But it does make for a cool clock.

And the monitors are ASUS PB278Q 27" 2560x1440, They are PLS/IPS.

That's cool. I don't have the skills to do that myself. Which particular desktop did you buy. Perhaps there's a place in my city that would do those things. Also just noticed the USB outlets on the side of the desk.

Yeah the clock seems pretty gimmicky. Does it shut off cause it runs on batteries?

Those monitors seem really nice a bit pricy for me. But I'd like something better than 1080p. My 13" macbook is retina so even 1080p would be a downgrade. I'd notice the pixels.

Its a nice looking printer even if its not silver. Looks very compact. Thats something that I would buy if it wasn't an inkjet. I just cant deal with dried up printers anymore. Especially after being spoiled with an laser printer that can go months without use and never dry up because the ink is already a powder.

Im very jealous of your chair. Ive wanted that chair for 4 years now but every time I get enough money to buy it I chicken out and say its too much money you could buy a laptop for that. The desk came out gorgeous.

hmm, ive gone months between uses and never had an issue with ink drying up...worst case, $20 for a new cartridge would be worth it to have a nice compact machine
