Really, are you sure? how about NOT. My cousins old mini had a 15 min battery life and he had a replacement nano, and I said why not test some stuff like that. I first tried with some fridge magnets and seemed of, then I put it near some Altec Lansing (nearly as big as the ones in the picture) and guess what, the hdd started to cling and do weird sounds later on it showed the sad face icon= dead hdd. And, at my family's company in the computer department they keep all the random screws together using a magnet from a speaker, and its powerful.

I'm glad the bose companion 2's have magnet shields in them:eek:

Someone in this thread is accusing me as a liar saying that is impossible for this to happen. I said it could happen since he had the MBP on top of a speaker, is not like if it is nearby that it will kill the hdd as my MB would be dead, I just said that if they are too close then something wrong might happen. Im glad my companion 3 series II are shielded as well so I don't have to worry about all my hdds sitting in my desk. Im just saying that if possible avoid close contact with anything magnetic.

I think they do it because vBulletin has trouble with massive threads. 'Could be wrong though.

It's not really that VB has trouble with it, but it puts a much bigger load on the database when loading those huge threads.

Why do we keep splitting this tread into parts? Seems pretty pointless to me.

Anyway...

Took it with my iPhone, because I didn't feel like getting out my SLR and tripod.
How does that distance work on your eyes? I'm told that keeping the MBP's display at a great distance strains the eye because of the high DPI. I'm thinking about getting an iCurve for mine, but so far, that eye strain thing has put me off it.

Well I don't have the high resolution model (1920X1200) so it's not too bad. If you find your eyes strained you can always increase the text size.

First time posting my set-up, I'm pretty happy with it so far, but I'd like to get a Samsung 23" LCD tv to replace what I currently use.

My MacBook is in for repairs (again :( ) but it would usually be on the right connected to the second monitor.

I've posted my setup a while ago in the previous thread, but I've updated a few things since then, so I figured I may as well show the goods :)
