is the processor really big? I don't see why it need two fans and a huge box to hold it in!!!
The processor itself isn't big, it's just a tiddly little square of silicon. The box contains the fins of the heatsink that keeps the processor cool & the fans blow/suck air across these fins.

Keep up the good work everyone. Many of you influence me. Here is a little preview shot of my setup. I'll post more later.

is that the rokit 5´s ? I got two Rokit 8s, clean sound but I figured I don´t really need speakers that play that loud. Anyway, KRK knows their stuff :D Do you make music?

2.5 Quad g5 4GB ram, 30" cinema display Running maya in this shot. Had this nearly 2 years now and still love it to bits.
Photo taken a while back also.

I also use a 1st gen black macbook ;-)

Nice machine! I just sold my Late 2005, dualcore 2ghz G5 this weekend. I miss having the ability to see the guts of ym G5. My mac pro doesn't do this :D

You must be running some legacy PPC apps?

First off I want to say that you guys have some AWSOME setups... I feel as if I am not worthy to post here however I will atleast do the right thing and tell you what I have...

AirPort Extreme Card & Bluetooth

AND

20" iMac
SPECS:
1GB 667MHz DDR2 SDRAM - 1x1GB
250GB Serial ATA Drive
SuperDrive 8x (DVD±R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW)
Apple Mighty Mouse

20-inch glossy widescreen LCD
AirPort Extreme

I also have an iTouch on 1.1.3 with bundle pac.

I will post pics tonight of my setup when I get home. I know mine does not compare to most of yours but hopefully I will not be schuned lol...

Take care guys you all ROCK!!!

My iPods are multiplying like rabbits. I should have tossed the wife's nano in there and we'd have one from every line.

Very nice; Apple products always seem to go well with wooden desks. What's that cool blue light contraption - is it a binary clock or something? Also do you find there's much difference between using the glossy display of the iMac side by side with the (I assume) non-glossy Dell monitor?

Cheers. :)

how about your new imac?

SICK!!!! Where did you get the clear case for your MP? What do you do? Do you have a site of all your works? What size display is that? That's a sick looking setup, I never knew it looked like that inside g5's, is the processor really big? I don't see why it need two fans and a huge box to hold it in!!!

Calm down before you pass out. :p

I do wish that you could do that with Mac Pros (directly from Apple, not third-party) but I wouldn't be able to see it anyhow because my MP is on the right side of my monitor.

Yeah the blue thing is a binary clock.

Considering that one is glossy and one is matte, the color reproduction between the two screens is remarkably close and for the most part it doesn't bother me. Although the viewing angle on the iMac's screen isn't all that great because it's a PVA panel, and it's certainly not my favorite LCD, if you're looking at it head on the color is quite good -- almost as good as the Dell, which has the same IPS panel as the Apple 20" cinema displays. Given a choice, I would rather have had a matte display on my iMac. When it gets replaced, it will be a Mac Pro with a 30" monitor.

Yea those are Rokit 5's. My dad is a singer and we have these to listen to mixes. But i'm going to give them to him and get me some speakers that have a magnetic shield.

Those Swan M10's seem good for listening but don't know how powerful they are.

Awesome, really like it. May I ask why the G5 is on the desk rather than on the floor?

Really like this set up as well. I used to have a vx revolution and liked it a lot. I kinda regret selling it.

The clear panel was (is) inside the removable aluminium side—you'd remove the aluminium door, and then remove the clear panel to access the components. It's supposed to help the airflow inside the G5. What deze has done is to remove the aluminium door and leave the acrylic panel in-place.

Edit: beaten to the punch by tobefirst. Oh, the irony…

Thanks, The sound quality is pretty nice especially for this price i love them.

May I ask where you found your clamp desk lamp? Looks like a fluorescent light, am I correct? I have an IKEA clamp light similar to that one, but yours is larger and mine emits a yellowish light instead of a fluorescent white light. It also makes a semi-annoying buzzing sound while powered on, but it's IKEA and it was cheap so what can I expect?

I LOVE my BC2's. I can't believe the bass and sound that comes from that one driver in there. I give it a 9.5/10, just because I wanted BC3's:p. But actually, I'm happy I got these, I thought they were dumb, I went into the  store and tried them out, i could swear i turned it up so loud the whole mall went silent, the bass, percussion, everything, BUY IT. honestly, i think the BC3's are for people who want a separate bass module, what Bose calls the Acoustimass module. A step up from the BC2 in my opinion, tryed them all, would be the BC5, the new music monitors are AMAZING too.

Yep, nice and simple :)

Great setup man!

yes you are correct it is a fluoresent light and it gives of a nice white light it can be too bright for some though. Its made by sylvania not sure what the model was. it alsome comes with a table stand if you dont want to clamp it.
