I am in a bit of a pickle. I am in the market for a laptop stand that raises the back of my macbook by 8cm and was wondering what you guys could suggest to raise it in line with the monitor. I would like it to go with the setup as much as possible so either black or aluminium or both!
Will post my setup as soon as i can get my phone connected to the mac. Infuriatingly annoying

i used a book and a 1" binder :)

Go to around page 400 of the setup's thread part 2 and you'll see I have my laptop on two wooden L-brackets that came from ikea. Since that photo I painted them black to match my desk and put felt chair leg thingies on it so it didn't scratch my PB. The L-brackets fit around the base of my ACD great and provided a great space-saving feature for me in a bind.

I am back to my icurve for the time being but when I move I'll probably go back to that.

I know that doesn't raise it up level with the display but you can actually buy 4 of them and glue or nail them together to get the height you want.

Thank god for memory foam
Ok so maybe you can say, how long does a memory foam bed really last?
And yummy on the floors.

I love your floors! They look so high end and what not if that makes sense. Is it hardwood or laminate? (sorry about all the floor obsession)
I don't get it either but I am way obsessed with that too. ;)
Here it is, my first Mac! :D

That built-in desk is awesome. Is it really in the wall or on some sort of bracket? Is it super sturdy? (if you lean on it would it come out?)

Just got myself a 16 Gb iPod touch to go with my 2.4 Ghz 15" MBP with 4Gb of RAM and a 250 Gb HD (no more warranty).

interesting, i always thought the touches were expensive waste, i mean, $299 for 8gb? how about $199 for the same capacity size? But now I think it will gain value because of the apps that will come in february

It's not just an iPod though is it really. If someone wants a conventional iPod they'll get a Nano or a Classic, the Touch is marketed as a multimedia device as opposed to an out and out music player.

GAAH! Should be more like a shrine, but whatever... I was forced to clean my room (shut up about the wallpaper:D) and decided to have some fine. BTW, the Dell whose corner is barely visible is the main 'puter till my mini arrives. Just wanted to give props to the Grape iMac, cause I never talk about it and it's my iTunes jukebox which is on for weeks at a time.

So thank you, O luscious berry of 400MHz wonderfulness. On with the pics!

They shore is! I actually use the Blueberry one quite a lot when I steal ram from my Dell. I can't believe people dropped the tangerine at the dump, glad I rescued it! xD

Thanks. I can't have the same setup for too long (well, look at all my posts in setup threads) so i got all these from August 17 to now. For some reason, craigslist users where I live are a bitdeep-pocketed... :D

I need to check the Craigslist for Raleigh... I wouldn't mind picking up an old G3 to have for the hell of it

What is that monstrosity hanging down from your door? And does it function?

Thanks. :)

It's pretty sturdy, if you look closely there was a bracket in the second picture but not the first. That was added because the bottom of the L desk was leaning a bit - still sturdy but not fully level. There are strips of wood screwed into the wall holding the desk in place.

Also, if you look underneath there is a shelf that my dad built to hide all the cables:

But I don't have my PC anymore so there isn't many wires to hide! Yay for mac.. :p
