I have the apple wireless mighty mouse and do not recommend it. The scroll ball on mine has stopped working (no matter how I clean it).

Get something else.

Ok, I have been a lurker here for quite a while now, but I have to come out of hiding to address this one. I JUST found an obscure thread on the apple forums about this problem, and I fixed it EASILY! Just get a clean sheet of printer paper, flip your mouse over, and (applying pressure) "roll" the scroll wheel around on the paper. This fixed my problem instantly and now I'm using the mouse again for the first time in months. I wouldn't use the mouse for photoshop, which sometimes feels like my job instead of the actual photography part :( , but it's still a great mouse! Good Luck.

Ah, what a shame for you. :(

;)

I actually started out as a student at Clemson, and now I part-time school and work full time for 'em. Free tuition is good. :D

Probably one of my favorite setups, I am a huge fan of the minimalist approach. One point to make just because I am about to do a similar setup...How do you keep your cords from going all over the place when you unplug them from your MBP, and you have your power supply on your MBP  those can get sorta hot. ALSO, I want an ACD because I think it would complete the look, so how can I utilize that as my laptop monitor and watch TV on it, or should I get a monitor that supports other inputs.

P.S. Is that I mikael desk from IKEA with the matching drawer kit? I am thinking about getting the same-thing, but in black.

Just curious, is that the mStand? How do you like it? Do you find problems trying to open your MBP when you close it and it is still in the stand? Also, what is the keyboard cover?

Yes, it'd the mStand and I've liked it a lot. Yes, I have to slightly lift it up off the stand to be able to open the computer. The keyboard cover is a radtech "screensaverz"

i absoloutely love your setup! I'm a huge supporter of the minimalistic design, and your desk is superb - especially for all being hooked up to a laptop. I'm working on finishing a few things to complete my setup, then I'll post my pics, but i love yours! Beautiful!

I think that is definitely the stand to go with, it seems to match the aesthetics of Mac quite well. Your setup, besides being what I would want, is, well, diesel. That is some impressive hardware. The monitor you are running, what is it, and I see it has HDMI- how does it work as a TV (preferably TV broadcast, but I am assuming you hook it up to your XBOX). In my post previous to mentioning your setup, I was wondering about having a monitor that could double as a TV. Don't know whether I should go TV and hook my comp to that, or computer monitor that hopefully has other inputs, or maybe computer monitor and something analogous to EyeTV

"Diesel", huh? The monitor is a Gateway FHD2400. Yes, it has HDMI, though I've never actually used it. I've hooked the monitor up via component to an HD DVR, and it works well as a TV. I wanted a computer monitor that could be used as a TV, since it has a better resolution for the computer.

Thats Nice!
Even if a bit cluttered for my liking. Haha.

I apologize! I actually just got it setup like this today. My roommate has to borrow one on my monitors for a while, so I am still getting things organized. Plus, I am a college student, :p

- The cords don't go all over the place because I have cable management brackets attached to the back of the filing cabinet that 1) organize the slack, and 2) keep everything in place.

- No, the power supply is next to my MBP..not on it.

- If you want a monitor/tv replacement, don't get an ACD. Go with the Dell. The ACD doesn't even easily support 2 computers, let alone other devices..

- Yes, it's the Mikael desk + filing cabinet. I originally wanted it in black, but when we got there (after driving 2 hours to get to our nearest Ikea!), they were all out. :( So, birch or whatever we ended up buying it was!

NICE SETUP. I am wondering how you stream your Mac signal to your TV as it didn't look like you had :apple:TV.

That black cable running along the floor....

Prolly a DVI or S-Video cable....

Ah, what a shame for you. :(

I was rootin' for y'all.

Duke and Clemson when they don't beat us FTW! :p
