Where's a good website to host images so I upload pics of my setup here? Or is there another way to put photos in your post besides the insert image button which requires a URL of your image.
Thanks!

These two (imageshack & photobucket) are pretty much the defacto standard.

Also you don't need to have a URL to attach an image to your post you can use any file on your desktop as long as its jpg png etc and within size limits

It's been awhile since I posted a setup pic. Recently added equipment:
-24" Dell LCD 2408 with tons of cables already hanging off the back
-Bose Companion 2 speakers (worth every penny)
-Seagate FreeAgent 750GB external drive
-zCover silicone skin on the :apple: aluminum wireless keyboard
AprilSetup.jpg

The myriad of items in front of the monitor are: (from left to right, back to front)
Camera dock, white memory stick, orange memory stick, SD card reader stick, green/black camera bag, 2x Xbox 360 controllers (1 with matte black replacement shell), Wii-mote, USB mouse (I've had problems with Bluetooth flaking out), USB gamepad (cheap - got it at Wal-Mart), Pelican System Selector remote (for game consoles), HDMI switch remote (Monoprice 4x1), aluminum keyboard with skin, Pinnacle HDTV stick remote, Apple remote, Microsoft Bluetooth notebook mouse 5000.

Over to the left on the MacBook is a ShaggyMac keyboard cloth, the piece of red paper you see at the front of the MacBook is just covering the LED light so it doesn't bug me at night, iPod dock for my red Shuffle (not pictured), elgato turbo.264 stick (currently encoding a movie in under 90 minutes while I type this! ;) ), and the Seagate FreeAgent drive. If you look below the MacBook, beneath the desk, i've also got a NetGear Storage Central Turbo (network drive) but I got that just for my PC which is in the black Lian-Li cube case to the far right.

(EDIT - Oops, didn't notice at first but the Seagate drive isn't visible. )

I like all of the black you have going on.
I was thinking of buying the aluminum keyboard and getting a black cover as well. How's it working out for you so far?

In this day & age when everybody & his dog has broadband, is 1.1MB really that big? I'm sure it's not just me being too used to a fast link to 100MBit JANET pipes...

1.
how did you get into web development?
Got one account built my first site with freeway pro not knowing anything about web development ;) basically, jumped off the cliff and built my wings on the way down.

2.
how did you apply for your firm?
Calling people on the phone - kind of like the old AT & T ad, reach out, reach out and touch someone.

3.
i suppose you got a degree and everything.
Two real paper degrees but one really good online education. Most of my online education came from these sites.

A. Lynda - http://www.lynda.com/

B. VTC - http://www.vtc.com/

C. High End Photography - Trial by fire!

i would love do have a job using Macs!
Me too :D

Over to the left on the MacBook is a ShaggyMac keyboard cloth

Doesn't that make it get unnecessarily warm while the MacBook is running? I've always wanted to know why people leave those cloths on the MacBook keyboard when it's open.

Anyway, nice setup. :)

I was thinking of buying the aluminum keyboard and getting a black cover as well. How's it working out for you so far?

The only issue with the cover is the side walls of each key of the cover are rather stiff, so you have to hit the keys dead-center or else you end up just hitting the stiff part. It took me a few days to get used to. I mainly got it just to keep dust off, but I don't do much typing so it never really bothers me. If you type a lot though, it would probably get annoying pretty fast.

Thanks, I got the ShaggyMac cover to keep dust off the keyboard and trackpad since I tend to leave the MacBook open on the stand and use a wireless keyboard. I haven't used any tools to check internal temps to see if it affects the temperature, but i've had no problems with using it for the last few months. I've felt it to check if it gets warm at all, and there is a little warmth towards the left side of the keyboard, but nothing i'm worried about. The fans never kick-in unexpectedly, and I use my MacBook quite heavily while it's on the stand (watching TV, encoding video, surfing the web, etc...) for several hours every night.
