Haha, I had the same idea as you to keep the macbook pro on a roll out tray.

You do realise, you can use the MacBook pro in closed lid mode, instead of having to keep it a tad open.

Awesome set up as well. ;)

Thanks for the comments! I usually keep the binds down so it isn't so bright but I pulled them up to give the pictures more light.

I also realize I can use the macbook pro in clamshell but one of the main reasons I keep it propped up a little is for heat dissipation. Also if I keep the macbook closed my wifi reception goes to crap. It doesn't even work! Anyone know a remedy or reason behind this?

Comments are welcome!

You need to take the protective plastic off the edge of your monitor, it looks silly like that!

Here is my setup, which was modified today with the inclusion of a new Billy bookcase from IKEA. All of the furniture is from IKEA actually and all of the wood is Oak (effect):

Niel, love the gaming setup! PS3, xbox elite! Haha, and a lot of games! Does that connect to the sony or the apple monitor?

I'll try to take a pic of the scenary in a second! So does anyone know about the reason for my wifi messing up in clamshell mode?

Here are the scenary pictures!

I really don't like the floor (working in an environment with a hard floor like that is a big no in my opinion) and the material you chose for the bench was also a bad move IMO too. With the sort of money it probably cost to create this you probably could have done a much better job I feel.

Looks like an Apple Store in your home or a Chinese restaurant. Do you even get any natural light in there? I'd go crazy.

Is that like a business or just for taking over the world?

Not an environment I'd want to work in, but kudos to you for doing something different.

Not a business, I do alot of work from home but I wanted my basement to be my "home office". I like the "corporate" look, it's different...I can't stand the traditional style it makes me go crazy.

Dark is what I want, natural light is everywhere in my home, my basement is meant to be a different place. It's not as dark, the pictures where mostly taken at night. The basement is a walk-out style, and there is a large windowed door and large window to the right of the "office" area.

Thanks,

I don't live in the U.A.E. I think he was making a joke, judging by his age he may be an expat and is familiar with Dubai. :)

I live in the U.S.

Wow, I had a hard time picking my jaw up off the floor when I saw that, which on the monitors is which? Obviously the right one is the Vista Machine, but of the other two, which one is the Mac Pro and which one is the MacBook Pro? And might you be able to post some pics and specs of your home theater? Just from the quick shot through the door it looks amazing.

a little off-topic but about the UAE/Dubai... I lived there for 2 years and just moved to Canada for university and am going back to Dubai when I graduate...we have a few family businesses there.
If you guys ever have a chance to visit, don't miss it as the place is just unreal and it will only get faker! (completely man-made, rich place, and beautiful)

Kurfer,
Many of the negative responses above have a strong foundation in jealousy. I have to say man, I am very impressed! Especially after seeing your post in the home theatre thread before this one... I am willing to bet you have one of the nicest setups of anyone on this forum. Good for you. Wow! P.S. I would love to see some photos of the rest of your house! You have great taste... so clean and modern.

As I did in the other thread, I will (insanely) follow your post with my own more humble setup.

From a person who's living there's perspective, it's a great place to visit as a tourist. There's never a shortage of things to see/do. Just make sure you come during the winter, as the summer will get full of the general tourists.

And don't look like a tourist. People don't like that. :p
