What'd you do with the iMac?
Sorry about the PB, but I'm glad you got a Mac Pro out of it.The iMac moved into another room of the house to replace the last standing PC.
And I mainly upgraded due to the upgradeability of the MP and also because of reliability issues I was experiencing with the iMac. I use my Mac for a load of graphic design work and the iMac was just being a pain in the ass. Its probably a bad unit but it'll serve fine as a casual user computer in the other room.
Plus I had the money from insurance from my stolen PB to put towards it.
School Theater Setup
I know that there are a ton of pictures that aren't exactly mac things, but this one is for the theater junkies. Here are a buch pictures of my MacBook along with the school's PowerBook G4, the light board (ETC Express 48/96), the sound board (Soundcraft GB4 I believe), and the projector controls, I'm not sure of the PowerBook's specs, but the MacBook is the same as above...
I mainly specialize in lighting design, intelligent lights, spotlights, lightboard controls, and video projections in the theater, I can get the very basics set up with the sound, but when it comes to equalizing the microphones, I am lost in another world. It is a fun theater (only a year old too), but wasn't designed primarily for drama productions, it was made to be a multi-function theater, so a lot of drama things were cut when they built it: fly space, small stage (the area behind the curtain is only about 15 feet deep), extremely small wings, no sceneshop near the theater, an awkward crossover, uncontrollable LED lights in the house that prevent us from having a blackout, along with a few other things, but it is a fun place to work in.Hey man, these pictures are great. I never thought I'd see some theatre setups here. I hope people will post some more. I specialize in sound myself but know a good bit of lighting, spotlights and everything else. What do you do mostly? My school has an ETC Expression 3 lighting console and an old discontinued Crest Audio soundboard. I'll try and get some pictures of my setup on monday.
This is my setup...
-iBook G4 1.2ghz, 768MB RAM, 30GB HD, Airport Extreme, USB Bluetooth
-USB Apple PRO Keyboard
-Wireless Mighty Mouse
-Dell 19inch LCD monitor
-(crappy) Altech Lansing speakers
I'm planning on upgrading the memory and HD in my iBook and possibly getting the Logitech Z4 or Z4i speaker system. I run the iBook as a normal laptop or in "desktop mode" underneath my desk, in the keyboard drawer.
(sorry about the pictures, world's most crappy camera. Anyone want a Pentax Optio 330gs? lol)
