This is my sort of setup.

01072008363.jpg

In the picture there is my old HP laptop my new 2.4 15" MBP and my sisters toshiba laptop just behind the table there's my pc which is connected to my samsung 40" HDTV.

I was moving files around so that I've got everything on my MBP rather than scattered about. I was also trying to sort my wireless connection out, hence why my sisters laptop is there.

I will normally be using my MBP on my lap so it's very rare to see it on a table

The only semi-"good" use of a PC!

:p
Makes a nice table support for the iMac.:apple:

I'm surprised by how many of you are using the crappy Mighty Mouse. If it had a Microsoft or Logitech logo on it then it would have died a very quick death. Unfortunately too many people don't realise that there are some much better mice out there that cost a fraction of what it does.

I use the mighty mouse for three main reasons:

1) It's sexy. I'm not gonna lie, one of the deciding factors for me when I bought it was the fact that it looked great next to my white Macbook

2) It's bluetooth. I wouldn't want a wireless mouse that would require me to plug in a separate USB wireless receiver for it.

3) I like the fact that it doesn't require you're hand to rest a certain way on them...a lot of the "ergonomic" mice require my hands to be in weird curved positions and stuff...I don't like it...I just don't think it feels very natural. The mighty mouse gives me the freedom to put my hand whichever way I want on it.

So, if you don't like the mighty mouse, don't use it. Some people do like it though, and they're going to use it.

I agree, I love the BT mighty mouse!!

Out of curiosity, what makes you think that YOUR opinion applies to everyone else?

If you don't like it don't use it, simple as that.

By the way, I don't use a mouse at all, I use the pen of my wacom tablet because I prefer that to a mouse. I don't think all mice are crappy though. ;)

Its not as bad as people complain, the little scroll ball is very useful when it works, wish this was on more mice. Impossible to use alternative fire in unreal though:mad:

My Powermac setup

Just thought I'd add my setup to the mix:

Powermac G4 Quicksilver Dual 1 Ghz
Powermac G3 B&W, soon to have a P4 or Core 2 Duo in it (depending in how much i can scrape together:))

Oh, and the 17" Studio Display, Rotel RA04, and Mordaunt Short Avant 902i speakers!:D

Enjoy:

Mac Mini, 1.66ghz, 2gb of Ram
Mighty Mouse
Apple Keyboard
22" Westinghouse Monitor
15" Dell for old PC
Panasonic DV Cam for iChat
Eyetoy with Macam drivers

My meager little project studio setup:

IMG_3171.jpg

There are real speakers placed around the room, for when I need to shake the place up a bit.

Wolfgang

i have the same pedal for my guitar
its so confusing though.
and when tried to install the sftware on my macbook, it wouldnt read the disc

I made a few changes...this thread is inspiring :)

I moved the laptop towards me more so that I can lean back in my chair and still be close enough to the screen. I also added some cable management (see photo below) and decluttered. I'm still having trouble getting this the way I like it though...the problem with having the laptop so close to me is that there is so much wasted space behind it and I don't really have any room to set papers or write things. Does anyone have any creative ideas? I tried setting my laptop on my credenza (see third photo) but there wasn't enough leg room...what to do, what to do...

If you get the computer up off the table, it will make a big difference I think as well as give space underneath for whatever. Either with the Griffin Elevator or Rain Design mStand
Any similar product will do but these are just a couple mac-specific examples.

Here's my current setup. It usually changes every few weeks. You might be able to tell that I enjoyed Wall-E just a little bit. :)

I hope you put 20% to life retirement =)

Here is my desk clean out a lot of junk, but currently working on a freelance so taking out the notes.

Also on the bottom the desk you can see how I organize all those cables works great and cost 5 bucks to setup. The blue container hanging is where I keep all m pens, pencils, markers and cutting utensils. Anyone know a good solid product to get my MP to hang on the side of my desk, saw one in Ikea but weight of MP may break it.
