I enjoy this set up much more.
The thought of kids accidentally throwing a ball or something and hitting your precious set up horrifies me. :p

Yeah me too the couch/coffee table set up was ok but there wasn't much room for me to use the mouse when I laid down and all the wires in the back didn't look so well

I know, I know... It's not a Mac..
But I'm feeling left out.
Besides.. The iPod has to count for something, right?
Expect a 24in iMac to be in the HP DV6000's place in 2-3 months. :D
PLEASE excuse the pictures.
I didn't feel like using flash,
and my D40 doesn't like that light. :p
The light under my desk changes colors, but I guess that's the only color I captured.

I would go the logitech way.
I've had some nice Altec Lansing, but over time they got very staticish.

Thanks for the advice, I also heard that the Fx6021's have a pretty bad hum problem from the sub in the UK.

Something about our voltage upsetting the transformer.

Recommend a particular 2.1 set-up?

I'm sure alot of people would recommend them, but I'm not a fan.

The z-4's are nice.
I love the bass that they put out.

If you have the extra cash though, get the z-2300's.
They are Extreme THX-certified and seem to well liked by others.

THOUGH,
if you REALLY have the cash, pick up some nice BOSE 2.1 speakers.
They are heavenly. :p
Not worth all the money though, but still, very nice.

I don't know why people say Bose is heavenly, you can get something much, much more heavenly for the same price, and it'll be built better, last longer and look better.

Haha, I was thinking about getting the Companion 3's, but I really couldn't warrant dropping that kind of cash on speakers, but I think some semi-good logitechs will do me fine.

Really, they're just tiding me over till I get some decent Studio Monitors.

Thanks for the advice ;)

Yes, but I personally don't like to have speakers the size of myself sitting on my desk.
Bose speakers are just so compact and put out some really good sound.
For me though, the logitechs will do just fine.

I'm actually using my iHome as my computer speakers at the moment though.

Bose aren't the only people making 2.1 systems you know. Bowers & Wilkins make several options, assorted subwoofers and satellites to choose from. Even some of their bookshelf speakers are very compact. The new 686 comes to mind, as does the XT2.

EDIT: although I forgot to mention that the XT2 is a *bit* expensive in comparison to most other computer speakers. :p

I'm a bit of a masochist and I use a 12" Powerbook as my only computer. I even carry it to work and use it all day there. I just like the form factor of the PB too much to let go of it, although I just bought a 15" Snow iMac G3 that I'm waiting for parts to fix up.

Klipsch ProMedia 2.1's and an old Apple bluetooth mouse. By the way, Bose is absolute garbage. All of their money goes into marketing, not R&D.

UMHurricanes34, very nice.

I'm basicall doing the same as that. Going to get some stuff from Ikea tonight.

Anybody know what those lamps are that are usually discussed on here?

smogsy Is the big, black, shiny thing to the left of your desk a fridge? Or a filing cabinet? Haha.
