I feel your pain.:( I just finished an essay/story about a bad dream or nightmare I had. I couldn't think of anything so I made something up. I think the teacher will like it though.:apple:

It only gets worse from there. Though, keep at it, and you'll be able to afford any Mac you want and a lot more "grown up" toys. :)

Just a helpful hint on the paper...
As long as you don't start an "About Me" essay with, "Hi, my name is (fill in the blank)" you should make an A.
Because I can almost promise that your teacher will get at least 20 papers with that being the first sentence.

haha yea, i am going to go with something along the lines of

"i never realized this much about my life until i wrote it down"
"I am the coolest in the world, and after reading this you will think so two"

what one?

Current set-up....

Cleaned up for the picture of course ;)

Why not both?

"I don't think I have ever realized everything about myself until I took a few hours to sit down and write an 'About Me' essay for my class. Though not to sound like I love myself to much; I believe I am the most interesting human in the world (or at least in this surrounding area), and after reading this, I think you will too."

Starting off a essay with a little humor always helps the teacher get "into" the story itself.

Good luck. :)

EDIT:
Also, make use of spell check, and have an adult proof read it a few times before turning it in.

messy but at least i shoveled all the DV cassettes and CF cards out of the way

Sony Laptop: casual use, replaced by MB
HP Tower: Apache web server and FTP server... work in progress
MacBook: all design, photo/video editing (will hook up to larger monitor), and everything else.

My setup without the messy cables under the desk.

Pictured:

17" MPB
Samsung SyncMaster 2032
Sony HVR-A1E
iPhone 3G 16GB
random wireless MS mouse
cheap as chips Logitech speakers

I like the whole dual-laptop.. it'd be better if it were one 12" PB and a 17" MBP. But it's a cool idea.

Off topic; My second 30" just arrived at my dad's work, he comes home in... an hour and a half!

Ew. Was about to post my new setup, and now I don't have enough power sockets to plug in the new monitor. Going to get some within an hour. Uhhh! I guess I'll clean my room so it looks nice and shiny for some pics :)

recording area (entertainment too)

This is just the front of my setup.. behind the couch facing the screen are 2 floor standing polk speakers and a samsung 226bw. I use this area for audio recording and playback. When the guys come over we use the closet which has been aided by acoustic foam to record. I plan to put in bass traps and acoustic foam in this room when I get more money.

Woo-hoo! My setup has updated quite a bit in the last couple weeks since moving to my dorm.

I guess our school got a good deal from Apple on the last rev of the iMacs, and so while I really (really) wanted the new iMac with the 8800 card, I was able to snag the last rev's top of the line 2.8Ghz iMac brand new for only $1200. :D

I just could not justify saving up for another couple months and spending nearly a grand more for what amounts to a $75 upgrade in the video card. With the money I saved I could buy more games for my X360, maybe save up and build a cheap gaming rig, or more than likely hold onto it and enjoy keeping some cash in my pocket (Besides, I have bills and payments to make, anyway...)

So, here we have it, my completely re-done setup!

24" iMac- 2.8Ghz Core 2 Duo "Extreme Edition," ATI 2600 Pro, 500GB, 2GB

13.3" Macbook- 2Ghz Core Duo, 160GB, 2GB

24" Dell E248WFP

500GB External Drive, random HP printer, Wave Keyboard & G9 mouse, and a Bamboo Fun tablet.

I'm in computing bliss!
