There's so much chatter going on around here. ;)
Not much has changed really.

The wire mess is my mess ... I'm sure it freaks some of you out but alas, I can't see it so long as I'm sitting at my desk. :D

LOL, i love your implementation of the folding tray as a printer stand. I'm constantly amazed at how many setups include one of those (mine also). They're just so gosh darn handy to have around to stick stuff on top of!

And also, do your eyes ever drift apart being so close to that monster screen?? Or do you just drool all the time over it's pixely goodness? lol

PS: sorry to cause more chatter :p

(and here I go with my chatter) Actually, the printer was basically supposed to just be a scanner for a job I had to do. The dude had hundreds of photos for me to scan. My previous setups (a year back) consisted of the same two desks and the R1800 on the other desk (seen slightly in the lower right hand corner). I have no interest in that stupid stand with the cheap printer being there, but space doesn't allow for my second desk and I wasn't about to buy another table like the one my R1800 sits on. :( But yeah, I mean it works right? Turns out the printer has come in handy and for $40 (scanner/printer/copier) I seriously can't complain.

I leave the drool for the pillow (no lie). I've gotten used to it and quite often sit back just a bit in my chair so it's not all that bad. But I do actually have to turn my head to see one side of the screen over the other. It's great to work on when I work from home. I have citrix open and I can see all my work apps. It is truly great actually.

The PB actually was my only machine until May of this year (and it ran that 30" like gravy). I bought it when I decided after I finished college I'd head to grad school. It got me through my senior year of college and then both years of grad school. It was my goal to buy a desktop after I graduated and the PB is used mostly for couch/bed surfing and when I travel if I feel like I want more than my iPhone. It is much heavier than the new ones, but still runs like a major champ. The only thing I think that will compliment it is an Al Macbook in orange (hey a girl can dream) or just a MacBook. I need a portable machine that runs windows but I'm not jazzed on buying a windows laptop since once I'm done with my exams I'm not seeing windows as playing a role in my future.

Very nice. It's good to see what your set-up looks like with the stand. I will have almost the same thing except for:

  • The 30" ACD
  • The Mac Pro
  • The Printer
  • The Desk
  • The little chair
  • The Degrees
  • etc...

Jessica, what are you using to hold the laptop vertically?

It looks different to the one I've seen before?

mattcube, is that the wave keyboard from logitech? how do you like it? I am considering it myself.

I love it! Absolutely love it!

I have at least four or five keyboards back home that I've forgotten about since getting the Wave. I didn't even bother removing the aluminum keyboard from its package when I got my iMac. Not only does it feel good for your wrists, I'm pretty confident I type about 5-10 WPM faster with this keyboard.

Oh... and while I'm at it; the G9 mouse is the single best mouse I've ever had the pleasure to use. LEAPS AND BOUNDS better than the wireless MM I was using before, and a significant jump from the G5.

That sounds nice!
Maybe you need to mess around in the Audip-/MIDI-preference application in Applications>Utilities?

Thanks for the suggestion, but that didn't work... It says audio output is not supported under my Z Cinemas. Again, I know that I can at least control the volume, cause it worked the very first time I hooked them up...

Any other ideas?

I LOL'ed at that. The little chair has successfully been in most every shot I think ... at least for a while. It was briefly replaced by my big blue ball, but in the summer sitting on blue balls gets sticky. ;)
I made the degrees online, you want me to make you a couple?

It's a Power Support Docking Stand. I just ordered one for about $45.00 plus shipping. You can find it here.

Yup. Cept I got mine from someone on MR for $20 shipped. Hell of a deal since the only reason I didn't buy from powersupport was they failed to e-mail me back for 2 weeks! And they're nearly local! If I get a 2nd laptop (macbook) I'll be buying another. Certainly the best way to save space on the desktop and the computer runs no hotter/cooler sitting that way.

Haha...yeah, I could use a couple of degrees.

I like the way the stand looks in your set-up. Since I'll be getting a smaller desk, the stand will be a great replacement for my Griffin Elevator. And now that I have my trusty 2408WFP at home (with the possibility of another), the Power Support will help keep the space issues at a minimum.
