LOL. We have 3 dogs at home... the biggest dog is the easiest to take care of, the 2nd oldest.. he's kinda scared of literally everything.. just me stomping my feet will freak him out... then the puppy.. who never listens to anyone unless you have some food.

Latest edition of my setup. Excuse the crappy pics, I took them with my iPhone as I don't own a digital camera.

web.jpg

My desk. On top is my brand new HP w2207h monitor that I love, so far. I just ordered a DVI to HDMI cable, so that should make the picture even better. Still having trouble getting used to working on such a large monitor. I love it, but after awhile the brightness kills my eyes! I also just ordered a new mouse pad and some other desk stuff from Levenger, so it's finally getting close to how I want it! I still need a new lamp though...

Here's the shelf underneath my desk where you can see my 2.16 core 2 duo Macbook (which I just ordered a 2GB RAM upgrade kit for), Western Digital Studio Edition 750GB Hard Drive (hooked up via firewire), and SimpleTech 250GB Hard Drive (for time machine). As nice as the shelf is, I'm contemplating moving MacBook to my desk - crawling under the desk to plug and unplug it is a pain. I also need to rework my cable management...anyone have any cool products that you recommend? Please, don't suggest the SIGNUM from Ikea. It's not ideal for the type of desk I have. :)

Woah - that's cool! How safe is it to put my Macbook like that though?

ould leave it like that to browse the interwebs and simple stuff like that, but if i heard the fan kicking in i would open it up and set it on the desk. dont know how well the MB cools itself when it it closed.

edit: also would like info on the orange logo

It cools fine closed. I leave mine closed, but it's in the standarard horizontal position on a Griffin Elevator stand. I just don't know if I really the operability of the hard drives and fans in an upright position like that.

The orange logo is just an insert that's a thin piece of orange film that goes between the logo and the light. You just slip it in and it glows orange. There's a website that sells them; I can't remember the link.

i would think that the fans would be fine, and a similar optical drive is upright in the imac iirc

thats not what it is. i was thinking of getting that, but it looked like to much work and i didn't want to void the warranty. what you are thinking of is http://www.icolours.ca/

what i did was but transparent adhesive paper, and trace the apple. then cut the paper and stick it onto the outside of the light. its not perfect because i did it in a hurry but when i get more time i am gonna mess around and see what i can come up with.

The desk is actually about 20 years old, it's from a local contemporary furniture store called Danish Inspirations. I acquired it and then re-finished and stained it - it was originally a much lighter wood. Glad you like it! I kind of want a new one myself :)
