are you using the genelecs without a sub? do they sound rich without the sub?
do they have RCA inputs? how did you connect them to your macbookpro? do you have an interface?

Yeah no sub, those go low enough for me. Especially that close. Excellent speakers.
No sub, so no upset neighbours either :)

I used to have a DAC between them and the mbp, but since i couldnt really hear a diffrence i just have them directly plugged in 2xXLR -> 3,5mm

Well, I'm done with my PC now and going to be using my MacBook only. Bought the mini-DVI to VGA adaptor and waiting for my Wall Mount + Gang Recessed boxes to come in to fully update my setup. Here are the two items I have ordered via Monoprice:

I've already started on rearranging my setup by doing a bit of cable management. This is what I've got so far:

The top will be used for the VGA cable, PS3 component cable, Audio cable and speaker cables. Bottom will be for power cords only. I should be getting what I ordered in between Wednesday and Friday so I should have a finished product by then. Look for an update shortly.

Does your monitor not support DVI? Seems a little strange to use VGA if you could use DVI. Then again, if all you have is VGA, no problem. Just asking.

I know I need to do some cable management, the dvi cable I'm using right now is too small. Anyway, my setup:

24" iMac 2.8 4gb
24" Benq LCD
17" Macbook Pro 2gb
10" eee pc 1000h 2gb
32gb 1st gen iPod Touch
9x12 Wacom Intuos3 Tablet

The eee pc is the most interesting. I picked it up recently for about 400 dollars and upgraded the ram to 2gb. It runs osx perfectly, quick bootup, no lag, great at multitasking between safari, itunes, iwork, etc and quartz extreme is enabled so spaces/expose/dashboard work flawlessly. I was even able to play WOW on it well but I don't plan on using it for that.

It also gets crazy battery life at 9 hours without wifi and around 6-7 with. I upgraded the battery to an 8800 mah. I'm thinking about eventually upgrading the hard drive to 320gb which can be found for around 100 dollars so I can use Front Row as a mobile media player too.

Which install did you use to get osx on your eee pc 1000H? How hard was it, does everything work(sleep, wifi, etc)? I'm thinking of getting one but I'm finding a hard time getting info on osx86 for that model specifically. There's plenty of info about the msi wind but I'd like some info on getting everything smooth on the eee 1000h

What resolution are you using? DVI only really makes a difference when you're running at HIGH resolutions.

Edit: argh, double post, what happenned to the delete button?

1440x900. So pretty low.

Picture looks good anyway, not interested in spending money I dont need to when this works fine. Just curious really.

Only supports VGA, it's a 23" HDTV. Don't think DVI is supported until you get into the larger sets.

You have a good eye for design BUT the little details such as cables kinda ruins it. Buy some cable ties from a local store and get tidying! :p

Why does everyone on this site seem to have something against cables?

IMO apple is artistic and definately produce some pleasing designs. Its obvious apple does not like wires and try to minmise the amount of wires needed.

Also, dunno why but i see apple owners as people who have very good taste, have an eye for design and prefer the nice and simple route.
