thanks.

i go to penn state, but dont live in a dorm. 3 bedroom 2bath(private bath in my room, other 2 share) student apartments

Oh that explains it. I was thinking it looked a hell of alot more like an actual bedroom than a dorm room.

I got my wall mount in today:

Only thing I need to work on is the speaker cables on the left and right. Going to drill holes into the base and then drill a holes in the wall to run the cables behind the wall and then seal those holes. Just gotta buy a cable extension for the right as it's to short.

Can you post or PM me some specs (res, contrast, size, etc.) about your monitor/tv? and maybe a picture with it turned on & connected to something. Thanks :)

Slick. Great wallpaper colors to show it off too.

Is that an Xbox 360 down under the center monitor, in the "dock station" or whatever they call that spot? How do you put discs in the tray?
There's some space between the desk and the "dock station" and there is no problem inserting discs. Minus the fact that they are vertical, but that's okay. This is an older picture where you can see that place more clearly.

what desk is that?
(See picture above) I'm not sure as I bought this 6-7 years ago from Office Depot? and I've done some modifications to it. I'm trying to work towards an Ikea table. Maybe.

A question for Genelec 8020 users: how have you found them? They seem like interesting little monitors, but I've never heard them...

15" Penryn MBP, 30" ACD, 8GB iPhone, Genelec 8020's

Ikea Fredrik desk :D

Jesus, that looks nice. The ACD looks so good with the MBP and the wireless keyboard. Very clean. You must have a nice time with all that screen space.

They're really really good! If you've got a large room 8040s or 60s might suit your better, but I've never had any issues with 8020s. Get a good audio interface and you sorted

Thanks! I absolutely love the space :) It's just scary how fast you get used to it.

They are very very nice. Made in Finland, baby
If you have they money go for the larger 8030/8040s, but the 20s suit me more than just fine at this distance. These things are loud!

I've heard they are awesome, currently using my brothers Yamaha monitors.

Here's my cozy little humble setup. Yes I am Mac-less at the moment, as I gave my brother my MacBook in favour of an Acer Aspire One (which looks kind of weird sitting on that Griffin Elevator), but Hackintosh is not out of the question.

Besides, no one looks at the Windows PC setup thread! :) And I'm using a wireless Apple keyboard... >.>

Homebuilt + Acer Aspire One.

Sorry about the bad picture quality! I don't have a DSLR yet.

[Edit] Had to blur out my photos and noticeboard.

Cleanup, do you like the aspire one? How is the power management compared to the macbook and the sleep/awake? Also, I was thinking of getting those headphones, are they any good?

I love it. The power management is great. I easily get 6.5 hours out of this if I'm not using Wi-Fi, just typing notes or something. As for Sleep/Awake, of course Windows standby is not as fast as sleep/awake on Apple laptops, but I tended to have trouble with sleep/awake sometimes. Standby is reliable. It works just as well, but may be the tiniest bit slower.

You will find that it's extremely underpowered compared to the MacBook, of course. But if you don't want your laptop to be your main computer, the Aspire One is a better bet. It'll help you use your laptop as a laptop is actually meant to be used. On the go and anywhere.

[Edit] And the RP-HTX7's... I got them because I found a random shop selling them for $13. They're easily worth $70+, and people compare them to the Grado SR6's and other "high-end" budget headphones. I'm not an audiophile, but I think they're great. They're lightweight and stylish and sound quite good. Again, though, I only got them because i found an amazing deal. If you can manage to spend a bit moreI'd recommend you hunt for a good deal on the Sennheiser HD-280s. Amazon has them right now for $85 USD. They're incredible, but very bulky and only for home-listening. The RP-HTX7s are like the Bose triports... they're very lightweight and can be taken anywhere.
