There is a lively discussion going on at Macintouch about keyboards; might be worth asking there. As far as I know, the BAT is the longest/oldest selling keyboard in this vein. The newcomer seems to be the FrogPad. I've never tried any of these, though.

Thanks. Will check that out.

For +/- 8 years old they're great! I've had no reason to upgrade, since they're great quality. I also have ROKIT 5 monitors in the room next door so I just have to get some cables for that I may end up using those.
Age has nothing to do with speakers, as the fundamentals of the technology has *never* changed. I guarantee if you sit down in front of a pair of Kef Reference 104's from the 1970's, they'll sound better than anything you've ever heard before. So don't sound surprised taht yours still sound nice after 8 years!

Nice keyboard too. I swear my by classic BT keyboard. The new ones are awful.

Have you tried the new ones? I used to have an old style BT keyboard and replaced it with one of the new ones, and let me tell you, the difference in ease of typing is night and day. I do wish they have a BT option with a number pad, but the amount of effort required to type on the old one is so much greater than the new ones.

Ha some serious ballers in this thread! My setup isnt worth posting about really, just a new macbook on an ugly desk in an empty room.

Post it anyway! Don't let these show offs intimidate you. ;)

OK, it's just another MBP with some speakers, but I bet mine is the only one being used in the attic of a 12th Century house? ;)
Before this I ran a G3 lime imac in a flat in London, no pix available right now though.

Finally after weeks/months of looking at setups in this thread, I've finally decided to take a picture of mine and post it up here.

This was my old setup when the computers were downstairs. Sorry about the blurryness. It was taken with my phone.

Had to mount the monitors upside down since originally i had dual 19 inch and wouldn't fit in my desk the upright way.

Hope you like it.

LOVE the monitors man . They give me ideas, damn you....

haha thank you.

My friend and I spent about half an hour thinking of a way to mount the monitors so i would have more desktop space and then we thought of mounting them upside down.

the only downside is that on both computers the start up screens are upside down so it's kinda tough going through the bios in my PC but it's not that big of a deal.

3 iMac boxes and not one in your picture! ;)

ah yes about that...
those are just empty boxes i picked up from my school dumpster since they were just throwing them out i decided to pick them up to use as a display and two of them actually have random computer parts and wires and an old compaq computer in them..

12th century house? Very impressive. Can you take pictures of the outside?

I dunno. I used to have a MacBook and I never really cared for the chiclet keyboard. :( The new ones are definitely nice, in terms of the way they look, but I do like my numberpad. Also I need F13-F16 as I use my BT keyboard with a PC and I remapped those to things like Print Screen and volume up/down/mute.

Surely! It's part of a group of houses that were originally one castle and has had a lot of restoration over the years of course but the site, overall layout and many of the walls are 12th C. The MBP lives up behind the closed-off elliptical window at the top ;)

Very nice, it seems to be holding up pretty good.

P.S My friends HAVE pointed out to me that my stand may catch fire at some point.... any suggestions on how to avoid that (other than not using it obviously)?

Nothing. Do you have any idea of the temperature at which paper/board ignites? I'll give you a hint - if your laptop ever gets that hot, you'll have other things to worry about than the stand catching fire.

Yeah that is pretty much the case. Sorry but I found the beer box stand to be quite humorous.
