I don't understand why people would "collect" these things. Fair enough if they were actually interesting to look at (which they're not) but each new model makes the previous one obsolete.

Having them stacked up like that looks like a waste of space to me, and I'm sure if you looked hard enough you could probably find a charity or someone in need who could make MUCH better use of those computers than you.

You really need to stop criticizing people, it's getting very annoying. I don't necessarily agree with the way people do things either but it's also not my place to jump on them for it. To each their own, that includes you.

Well said candan9019. Thanks.

I just love collecting these things. I don't collect them hoping they'd appreciate in value. Myself, I don't criticize people for "loving" what they do. Whether that's collecting old computers or PEZ dispensers.

I work in the design field, and Apple just has an eye for design, which I admire.

As for the iMacs shelf, I'm only collecting the slot-load models. But I had to get the original 233MHz iMac. I'm still looking for the Strawberry, Tangerine, Lime, and Sage. I've been looking at eBay and Craigslist everyday for the past year, and not once have I ever seen a Sage model. I think these are more rare than the Flower Power and/or Dalmatian.

You know... I have been looking for a cube for the longest time now! Everywhere I look they want over $300 for it and I just want the case. I think it's the best looking computer! and so unique!

Awesome collection!

Here's my entire Apple Collection to date.

Here are my Macs, all packed in a little 13'x10' room.

My main setup is a 30" ACD + 23" Acrylic ACD, and one of my all-time favorite Macs, the 20" iMac 20".

All units are in working condition. In the middle shelves, I have two Cubes and a 15" and 17" Studio Displays, an eMac and a 15" iMac G4. All have airport cards and will primarily used when we family gatherings.

As for the six MDDs on the top shelf, four are Dual 1.25s, one Dual 867, and a Dual 1.42. These suckers are LOUD! I can't work on them for 10 minutes without getting irritated.

I'm also posting a few of my posters. I have a bunch more in the shelf. I just haven't had the time to head down to Michael's to pick up a few more frames.

One of my biggest regrets is throwing away my first ever Mac, a 266MHz Tangerine iMac, which I bought new back in 1998. It crapped out on me back in 2004. I wasn't tech-savvy then, so I didn't bother fixing it. Sure, I can always pick one up now, but it's not the same :-(

The last image is that of my wife's setup, which is a Dual 1GHz QS hooked up to a 22" ACD. This was my old setup when I was going through Community College. I bought this system just to "kiss butt." Just kiddin. She does support my addiction.

Enjoy . . .

Wow, wanna sell any of those? Maybe a cube or MDD?

Time to carry on with setups I guess. :)

Not too much change since my last picture a couple of months ago, I bought one of these cool ikea lamps & a cheap "leftover" oldschool mbp. My retired PowerBook is now happily used by my girlfriend. But anyway, I think I managed to make a rather good shot with our small 4 megapixel camera.

Well yes, but I don't hoard them like this. I can understand people who collect cars from the same manufacturer who get the joy of maintaining and driving them, but macaddict23's "setup" looks like they all just sit there for no reason other than decoration.

Without power, these things are useless.

So people like to collect things. It makes them happy. I collect synthesizers and yeah, I have a few that are not hooked up to any power. I am rather sure that you would not find a bunch of rectangular black boxes with plastic keys and knobs interesting to look at, but I do. So when you look and see a row of G4 cubes and a row of MDD G4s and a shelf of G3s you may think that is excessive, I may even think that, but it is no ones place to rip someone for something they get enjoyment out of.
