Are they bright enough to actually illuminate your desk in the sense that you wouldn't need a table lamp in order to read something?

I only have two strips above my Macbook, and the other two are on top of the desk/shelf thingie (like in the attached pictures - crappy quality for which I apologize again). Even with those two, I don't have trouble reading on the desk. I assume that with four all together, you'd have a perfectly well lit reading area.

What caused it to be headless?

Well a guy in my year at school had it, But he left it on and the wallpaper was on flurry, and the cat attacked the screen so hard that it snapped the screen right off its hinges, Little did he know it still worked.

I'm nominating you for the most ghetto rig on MR :p

hahaha, hey if there's an opportunity for a $100 headless macbook, why not go for it? I'm also getting a white top lid W/ lcd (hence the white keyboard) for another $100, there's a $200AUD macbook right there.

With a few minor tweaks that could be the new Mac mini design! Mac Mini Keyboard! :p

Ams.

It's not too bad of an idea if you ask me :D

Overall shot of my desk. Dell 19" monitor that I took from my parents. Xbox Jasper sitting onto of an antec notebook cooler and then random junk. The desk, chair, lamp and magazine holders all all from Ikea:eek:

I would place my book everywhere on the desk. There was no permament place to put it. I use to have it under the monitor stand hooked up to the monitor, but it got to be to much work when I wanted to go to the family room or somewhere. Plus my xbox takes up my VGA and my popcorn box takes up the dvi so the poor book is left alone.

Random close up.

Since it is the post your mac setup, here it is. A messy desk and messy underdesk builds character.... I swear.

I'm still moving in and trying to figure out how I want things. This is pretty much settled I think, until tomorrow when I get back to work and find out I'm not liking the way things are.

<awesome setup>

Liking the setup & beautiful HDR pic! I was checking out your photoblog and really dig the "New York in October" "fish eyed blue skied" photo. You've got some really nice pictures on there.

Setup for today

3209625843_872513c03e_b.jpg

That makes me miss my first Mac setup!

My first Mac was a 1 ghz TiBook, and my first iPod was a 20 gig 2nd Gen. I loved them both dearly.

That was right about the time I joined MR - adding one to the member base, yet halving it's quality. :D

LMFAO I love that you remember that. It is on the balcony. When Teh Mom™ was here she wanted a place to sit on the balcony and smoke because I won't let her some in my house. I have yet to bring it in ... but I need to. I miss it. :)

At least the cables are slightly better than they were in my own setup.

You're in NC now?
