This picture makes it look like the coloured LEDs also emit white light. Do the normal white LEDs emit yellow or white light? Sorry for the questions. :D

I really have no clue about the normal white LEDs... The colored ones do 7 colors (Red, Blue, Gree, White, Yellow, Teal, and Purple(??)). But I would imagine the WHITE LEDs would emit the WHITE light...

I wish I had a MacBook Pro Even a 2.33 GHz. All I have is a 1.67 GHz PowerBook and no camera to post a picture of it with. But I have a SWEET background of the new MacBook Pro. I made it myself. It is even the same resolution of my screen. my setup is basicly bed + PowerBook and cheap replacement power adapter because my apple one caught fire
may your wish come true my friend:cool:

G4 iMacs are great!

Yea, you'll be happy with the 20". I got inpatient and got the first one that came my way. It's useable but without bluetooth and usb 2.0 and a slower processor it isn't capable of much. I mainly just use it for internet, word, and photoshop. It's better now with Tiger though and I can update everything properly now. But the 20" is definitely the way to go. It's got more of the modern features. I'll probably switch up one day, but the powerbook should hold me over for a while.

I have a 15" G4 iMac (800Mhz, 512Mb) running as a web server for testing sites out on and as a bittorrent machine. Before I got it it was my parents' computer and used for everything up to and including video editing and making DVD's. It's never skipped a beat despite being used 24/7 for the last 2.5 years and pretty regularly for 4 years before that. I don't really have a point to make, except that mac hardware is cool and lasts forever! I'm typing this on a 1GHz PowerMac G4 which is also 6 years old, running the latest version of Leopard perfectly!

That was my setup, sold it a week ago :] the setup will be an iMac

See, that's how you do it! The last two used Macs I bought didn't include the original box. I keep every box, whether it's a mouse, or a computer. I feel it definitely helps the sale and shows that you most likely take care of your things.

Agree! I always feel better about buying used gear if the box is included :D

I love the wireless keyboard, but I'm having second thoughts on the mighty mouse. Ill probably end up using keeping it, 'cause I use the side buttons all the time...

If I got a different mouse would I be able to set the right click button to an expose function?

After going through all 61 pages of this thread while waiting for my MacBook Pro to get here, I came up with the design for my set up.

I saw a lot of posters using the IKEA Dioder light sets. Their setups intrigued me because I like the idea of having multicolored ambient light. The price really deterred me at $50 for the four piece straight light bar set which seemed too bright anyways. I almost missed the four piece round light set when looking around. At $40, it seemed more reasonable, so I grabbed a box and headed for the checkout (and the cinnamon rolls...).

They fit perfectly on the back of my Altec Lansing FX6021 right and left speakers. The light shines off the wall and provides good ambient light for night time use. Another cool thing is they look wicked with matching desktop pictures. The desk is a cheap MDF office outlet special that I tore down to just the basic top, sides and tray. After what seemed like a good hour wrangling the cables, cords and wires (which still don't look very good), I snapped a few pictures.

-IKEA Dioder (201.199.32)

I have my vx revolution set so when I click the middle button (scroll wheel) down, it brings up expose. Instead of dashboard, which is the default for the middle button I think?

Dell? Apple? Dell? Apple?
Just can't make up its mind! hahaha :p

crazyrog17, that's an AMAZING idea!!! lights on the back of the speakers. That way no mounting on the desk and the cables would route with the speaker cables!!

UMHurricaines34, Nice to see some older machines on here. I'm getting tired of seeing Alubooks/iMacs and whitebooks!
Let's see some more "classics" ;)

Haha, yeah. You should have seen the way the OS looked before I reverted back to the classic XP look - I had object dock and junk on it so people actually looked at it and were like "are you running MAC?!" (I tried the hackintosh thing, but my hardware is not compatible :p)

The Dell is just my portable for school now, 95% of my work is done on my iMac now including running any windows apps I need in VirtualBox
