Here is my setup.

It started as a MBP (not pictured) with a 24" ACD. I quickly learned that I missed having a home computer - so I sold my ACD on eBay and purchased (2) Dell 22" monitors. Great monitors!

I then recently purchased a new Mini to utilize the dual monitors - I'm lovin' it.

On the side of the desk, I have a Dell XPS 210 and a Viewsonic NextVision tuner connected to the Samsung monitor. This allows me to run a PC (or Slingbox) if I need to OR most of the time I watch cable TV on it.

Let me know your thoughts - cheers!

Do you do design work off of the mac mini? I notice you had adobe programs installed on it. How does that work for you.

I have a mac book pro and i would like to have a home computer but i would also like to do work on the home computer. If a mac mini can run illustrator and photoshop it would solve my problem.

Let me know thamks.

Its a HP LP3065 and a Dell 2007FP. The small one is a LCD TV, rarely ever use it though. The hackintosh is a 3.2GHz Q9450, 8GB RAM and a GTX 260 in a LianLi V1000b case. Everything works except for the second DVI out on the GTX 260. Need one card per LCD. Ill stick in a 8600GT I have lying around when I get back to college.

My new setup. Just recently added the Dell 2209WA, replacing an old Acer 22"; the Logitech Z4s, replacing X-540s; and the 13" uMBP, replacing a 13" Blackbook! :) Next is to get a new processor and video card!

Sure is. It's one of the better keyboards I've used. Doesn't hold a candle to the previous general Apple Wireless Keyboard though! As soon as Windows 7 fixes its Bluetooth woes I'm switching back!

It looks really slick and clean looking

It is! It's extremely thin and very small-footprint. This was the only keyboard besides the previous gen wireless Apple keyboard that I could find that was full-size, as small footprint as possible, and had zero lag. I wasn't willing to pitch $200 for diNovo Edge, and even if I was, it's footprint is huge and it has no number pad!

A guy on eBay sells open-box and refurb HP products like these. Although it shipped a bit sketchily, and was a bit tricky to set up (in Windows at least), the keyboard works absolutely fantastic now!

My space efficient setup

Here's my very space efficient setup - it cannot get more cramped than this! Been having similar setup with no change since couple years now - so I guess it works for me!

ATI x1600 MBP (Synergy), 20" ACD, Seagate 500Gb disk, Palm Pre, Nokia E71, Bose Speakers and HP xw6600 Linux workstation (12Gb RAM, QC Xeon, ATI 4670).

Also pictured - Microsoft Ergonomic keyboard (swear by it - no arm/wrist pain ever since), and a Logitech MX Revolution mouse.

Seriously? Have things changed THAT much since I was in 7th grade?

I'm 22, and back in 7th grade my setup consisted of 3 bull frogs caught at the local pond, a bucket full of Super Soakers, and I believe there was a Gameboy with Pokemon Yellow in there somewhere.

I can not even imagine having the need for a computer back then.

I'm 27. 7th grade was spent programming (in QBASIC) on PC and spending unhealthy amounts of time with friends and Super Mario Kart.

I got one of those a while back for the kids to watch TV, never used it much, then we ditch cable and just have :apple:TV's, I run 720P on it and it rocks for a small HDTV. Have it in the spare room where our parents sleep when they visit, in between visit, the kids can watch movies and shows (all controlled remotely with my Apple Remote on the iPhone). I also attached bose companion 2 speaker.

Got my 13" MBP 2 days ago, spent the last few nights setting it up, moving files etc. So far I am loving it, it is my first mac :)

I have an Allsop laptop stand with an Acer H233H monitor. I have a Seagate Freeagent Pro 500GB external drive set up with time machine. I have a usb hub behind the stand that connects the iPods, keyboard/mouse and HD. Under the stand you can see a sliver of my Line 6 Toneport UX2 usb instrument interface, which plugs into the other usb port when needed. I think thats all the main details of my setup.

I love those, I have a Microsoft optical mouse that I've had since at least 2001 and it still works really well. Their peripherals are great but their software is despicable.

Well I've finally pulled my finger out and taken some shots of my new office.

My previous office was one of the largest rooms in the house and was a complete waste of such a large space. It also was our spare bedroom so I had to work around chaos when people were staying. So the plan was to create an all new office in what was the nursery.

I took everything back to the floorboards and laid all new cabling and completely redecorated. It was a royal pain in the backside, but well worth the effort. I wanted the end result to have as few cables and other rubbish on show as possible. I'm very happy with the results.

To answer as many of the questions you may have I've put some info by all the pics.

A general shot of the desk, it's an Ikea Mikael. After building two desk for my previous office I decided to go down the ikea route this time as it was quicker and had a better ability to hide the cables.

3808560956_3bcac24164_b.jpg

A bit of a wider shot showing the Ikea besta cupboard on the right it stores lots of my files and other odds and ends. The Car on the top is actually a computer. It's one of several I've built, this being the final and most perfect one. It certainly catches most guests eye first.

3808561288_98a5fb4d00_b.jpg

Here you can see my setup. It's a unibody Apple Macbook hooked up to a 20in cinema display (Mounted on a Humanscale M7 Vesa mount). I've also got the superb apple keyboard and logitech mx revolution mouse. The irreplacable Apple iPhone 3G, along with a BT Reveal telephone

3807746301_cd640b6020_b.jpg

A great shot of my custom made seat using a Cobra clubman car seat and an old office chair base. The picture is a panoramic shot of Clifton Suspension bridge in Bristol

3808936860_00931f63a5_b.jpg

In this shot you can see the cables all hidden behind the desk along with usb hub, tv card and external hard drive.

3808937182_b60981d162_b.jpg

Look ma no cables!

3808939156_e17d2f4f34_b.jpg

An ordinary cupboard? No....

3808937896_fdbfa9b7f8_b.jpg

Behind the right hand door is a hidden testing station for clients computers.

3808122355_c60a635917_b.jpg

A closer up shot of this, you can see the monitor stand I built to allow the keyboard and mouse to slide underneath.

3808123503_109310773a_b.jpg

With both doors open you can see the filing cabinet and further storage. I'm so glad I decided to go this route.

I reallly like the setup! Red containers/folders in the cabinet make for a nice pop... not sure that client pc testing area looks too comfy. haha, might be nice to have a tiny simple desk of the same finish as your existing furniture.

Other the desk setup looks sweet. :)

Hmm I'm coming to live with you :p I really like it. Btw if you want to have even less wires; maybe you could get a little drawer unit like this which you could tuck under your desk and put the Mac on? Just an idea :)
