Mac Mini

This is my setup for now, in the next month I plan to add 1GB Ram and Get the BenQ FP737-D (LCD, 17in, 16ms, DVI) Any Thoughts on this LCD ??

Not bad for no I guess, I still need to find a place for my FW Drives so it stays clean like this. :)

Well, here do i spent most of my computer-time.... In the future I'd like a 20 or 23" LCD, but the cash flow won't permit it for now.

Nice
it looked very clean and sleek :D
And I think that if you are going to get a 20" or 23" that would be one he** of a setup

Uhu, a shame they are pretty pricy.... but all good things come at a sertain cost..

Yes they are
I have a 17" LCD and that is good enough for me but a 20/23 would not hurt :p

It's like christmas...only better!

Another change...just got a couple of new toys, it's been a very long day at work waiting to get home!!!

Anyway, added a Lacie D2 250GB to backup the iMac and PowerBook to (it's about time I did backups ), and the Altec Lansing FX6021's, which sound fantastic!!!!

Just backing up the PB now over FW800, then to the iMac over USB2 I think :)

I notice that alot of ppl have both the ipod mini and the regular ipod, what would be the purpose of this? I need some more excuses and reasons to buy more appl stuff. so anything helps. lol

Yeah me too! I need a good reason to justify buying a mini (especially with the new price drops/additional sizes) Also, if you dual-iPod owners don't mind, how do you sync them? Do you have them both with the same iTunes Library? I'm curious...

You have a second flat screen devoted entirely to iTunes??

No, that just happens to be what I had open at the time :) I was giving the new speakers a good testing ;) :D

You can sync an unlimited number of iPods i believe, but I think only one can be in iTunes at the time - like, eject one after your done and plug the other in.

Its good to have 2 ipods for some people - I'm not one of them, but for school I'm starting to need a USB flash drive so I may get a shuffle!

I had 3 iPods plugged into my Powermac last weekend.

The only way I know how to do it is have all the iPods on manual update.

Well, I know that I just can't resist the 4th gen iPods anymore, and I'm going to be picking one up. I'll use it for music, and my old 20 gig will be used just as a backup/portable hard drive.

Some people probably just get more than one because they, like me, lust after anything and everything Apple puts out.

Just got my new 17" Powerbook today!

I've only got pics of opening it (and they've not been touched up yet) but I'm too busy using it now, lol.

I'm glad I went with the 17" instead of a 15" though, it's just the right size for me.

It seems as snappy as my iMac G5 so far, with the exception of hard drive intensive stuff. (booting takes 3x as long I'd say) The screen doesn't seem as good quality as the 20" on the iMac... like it's got a lower refresh or something. 25ms maybe? Either way it's fine for what I'll be using it for though.

There are a couple of (tiny) marks on the lid, but it's otherwise a perfect machine, so I can live with it. I didn't get an iLife '05 disc, so I'll be calling about that. (but I've got to contact them to get my extra 512mb stick of RAM sent out.

Anyway, enough talking:

Thats nice!!!

I think when you call them you should also tell them about the scratches - you spent close to $3000 and you BETTER get an amazing machine!

True, but dead pixels worry me more than those miniscule marks on the case. (you can barely see them; they're smaller than a full-stop)

Wait, the machine is brand new, and it has marks on it?

And for whatever it's worth, I've never seen a Powerbook with a dead pixel.
