Paul, loving the setup, what speakers are those?

Apparently I asked the question a few pages back. xD

I also posted some of these in the 18 or Under thread. However, I took a wide shot of the room recently, and so I thought I may as well post it over here.

I've always preferred the clean, streamlined look that Paul's setup exhibits. However, I have neither the money or the room for such a setup, so over time I have attempted to make my room as comfortable and inviting as possible.

mattcube64 Wow! Nice room! TV, consoles, etc. Damn! I wish my room was like that when I was under 18. Man, I feel old now..

I agree nice room for under 18 years old, but let me ask you why is web cam pointing to the bed?

PS3 owner - good job there

I want to say that webcam is for Xbox Live and looks like he uses his bed as a seat. ;) Unless I'm wrong...

OK, I'm gonna ask the obvious. How the hell can you afford all that at under 18?!

I was taking pictures of a bunch of other stuff, so I figured I would go ahead and take a pic of my desk. Perhaps I will get around to taking a pic of the Mini downstairs at some point in time.

Must be a pair of very, really super nice parents. :D

No, not at all. I went on a mini-rant over in the other thread. Sure, some teens are definitely spoiled, and while I have a nice home to live in, most the stuff was purchased by me. I live with a divorced mom (no child support), and have had the same job since turning 15. I bought my own car, pay for insurance, and gas. I work 25-30hrs/week while in school (more in the summer), keep a 4.0GPA, am editor-in-chief of the school paper, and plan on attending college next year (on my own tab) to major in either journalism or advertising and design.

EDIT: Re-read my post, and it comes out angry-sounding. That isn't the case, I just like to defend myself, because I feel I work very hard for my things. My first assumption when I see nice things in the other thread is that the kids are spoiled, as well. I understand how you could assume that. :p

Oh, and yeah, I use the bed as my seat, so the cam is for Xbox Live.

I respect that as most of my stuff was paid for myself too. I see spoiled kids running around and know for sure they didn't pay for their brand new M3 by themselves.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Some of my closest friends have $15,000+ first cars their parents bought them, and I know they'd complain if they had to even pay for insurance, let alone gasoline.

I bought my car with money I saved, a '96 Monte Carlo for $3700, lol.

Fair do's. No offence intended. I was just curious (as most would be). Especially as my memories of being 16/17 are desperately trying to scrape enough pennies together to go to the pub (and find a pub that would serve us :p ). Then again, I only worked two nights a week. I suppose I'm just naturally lazy :D

I actually just picked that up today! It has taken me forever to fine one. I looked at more than one Target and K-Mart over an extended period of time, and was never able to find one. On my way back from the Apple store today (I was hoping they would have a Wacom hooked up to something so I could try it out... they didn't :( ) I thought to stop in at an Office Depot, and they had them! It made my studying today a lot better.

I don't know where you are going to be able to find one, but this ran me less than $10 and it has already made a big difference! Definitely pick one up if you find one.

I would just like to say as another 18 an under I truly respect you.

I respect that mattcube. Unlike many here (haha yea ok) I bought my first Mac, software, and prosumer camera instead of a car lol. Paren'ts can't touch it because this time they can't say "well I paid for half so I get half the rights." Its alllllllllll miiiiiinnnneeeee lol.

30hrs a week with school is tough I agree. I did it last semester (was my first so I was getting my feet wet besides) I did terrible, missed assignments, blah blah blah, dropped a class, failed another. It was quite fun and my final ended up being a 2.30 (yea baby). So this semester now that im taking transfer coarses only and its only 3 of them (gotta love a no bars choice on stuff), ill be able to work hard at my video job and get my work done no prob.

Good thing im not interested in consoles anymore, ide be broke for sure. More than I am now...damn macpro.

$15,000! Hell, try $30,000-40,000+!!!!! I'm looking at like a $9,000 to $10,000 GrandAm (Recent) or a Malibu or something that I like. That's a fraction of what some of these kids pay! And this is a small 3200+ size town!

But then again, I should save this for the car forum...

$30,000 on a first car!!!! I paid £250 for a 1991 VW Polo. My insurance for the first year is double the value of the car. I broke my leg 2 months later so now I can't drive it....
