Do any other members use a "theme" to name their machines? Any other examples please?
I follow an "-ic" scheme...

Main Sony PC: Synthetic
Second Sony PC: Ecliptic
Main Sony notebook: Nucleic
Second Sony notebook: Atomic
Mac mini: Xenophobic
iPod Photo: Anechoic
Sony PSP: Microscopic
Maxtor network shared storage: Mnemonic
Sony LocationFree TV base station: Euphoric

I'm a physics nerd, I guess. My PC is named Laplace, my laptop is Fourier, my Mac at work is Pascal, and I think my next machine will be Feynman (or maybe Maxwell).

My G4 PB 12" looks just like the one in all the other photos....sexy... :)

I have a B&W that is sitting in a closet folding proteins. Not elegant, but functional.

I just put together an old PM 8500 (which was my very first personal Mac... got nostalgic) that I got on eBay for $0.01. I want to take a picture of it! It's so beige!

I paid:
PM 8500 = $0.01. + $18 shipping
4 GB hard drive = $16
OS 9.1 = $0.00 (miraculously still had it from way back when)
ADB Mouse + Keyboard + VGA adapter = $4
15" Dell Monitor = $1.00 (yard sale)
Grand Total: $38.01

When I bought it new in '96 it was $3000!!!!!

Ahhh depreciation
And the whole beige thing really goes well with my apartment's wood panelling

LOL nice a good shopper just like me. :D

My desk at the moment...

Woo! First day iMac'er!

imacsetup13nd.jpg

Thats a nice and clean setup you have going there. I am thinking about getting my olds a new iMac if I can raise the funds through the auction of my Nikon D100 kit. I am just getting sick of sorting out all their damn PC issues. The sooner I can get the family weaned of PCs the better.

Thanks for the kind words guys!

I absolutely love it, it's one of my best investments ever, and it just works!

Had barely any issues, except for yesterday when Safari wouldn't load unless I turned off then back on the Airport ...

Oh well, besides that it's been wonderful, seamless, I love being able to just lock the screen, the display will turn off after a minute, then I can leave downloads going and all my documents and privacy is safe!

The screen is beautiful and bright, and this thing can handle anything (even the fairly menial tasks recently, been really busy with work and school) but am going to edit a movie later on, I'll see how that goes!

congrats on the system as well, i am pretty sure they look like soundsticks, more clear looking then the ones in those links...i may be wrong
