bye

great looking set up.... how may I ask did you post the pics directly to the thread? I used IMG and HTML no luck...

N10248

N10248 where'd you get that desk? I've been looking for a new one and that looks like it might work

This is a rather bad picture of my setup. The catch is this is the first photo I've created myself (by that I mean dark room copying or whatever it's called). If I get a digi camera some day, I'll take a better picture. There's a G5 lying under the desk :)

Are you studying photography? I remember the days of developing B&W prints. Why don't you have a digital camera? Surely you can afford it if you have the money for a G5 :)

TIP: Clean your negative before exposing and print for true blacks and true whites. Print looks flat.

i love that photo - looks like it was taken in the 19th century, but then you see the G5 stuff and it's a great contrast. I also like your record player - mp3s cannot better vinyl as a format (though it is hard to take your records with you on the move!)

you mean like this.... (and I've done this on 3 other sites with total success, so it's not my picturetrail accout). Not sure what else to try, I also can't select an Avitar in my profile area. I must just be a second class member of MacRumors or something!

look here at my MACNN version...

23 or 30?

Very nice :D

that's a 30 alright... I compared my keyboard to his and mine looks bigger against the screen than his, and I have the 23"... frankly in hindsight, I wish I'd gone with the 30 now.. I figured it was gonna look stupid and too large (cartoonish) on the desktop, but it would have been fine. Maybe for Christmas! :p

I have a nasty habit of keeping old stuff now, so i tend to collect computers & monitors.

From right to left:

1st gen Powerbook 12"
Linux PC (PIII-550 i think) acting as gateway and fileserver
G4-350
Dual 2Ghz G5
Windows PC (PII-400), under the desk, soon to be FreeBSD.
3 17" monitors of varying ages
15" Sony LCD

computers.jpg

And yes, the monitors are all connected to the G5 :) (This is an older photo, hence the different layout)

monitors.jpg

The setup didn't start like that, was originally only single monitor with the G4, then dual (nicked it from the PC when it became a gateway), then got the third monitor free and the LCD at a bargin price.

Previous to this, i've had (reverse order)

Performa 6400/200
Performa 630
Atari ST 1040 (with 1MB ram upgrade ;))
BBC Master

ok i know this is going to sound stupid but how did you hook up the 4 moniters? very interested in doing similar with my setup here?

How long have you had your computer for? I'm guessing not long because it starts to get very dusty in there...really bothers me. By the way your computer doesn't like it when you take off it's plastic guard while it's still on. :p
