I have an update. I'm working on making aluminum panels to cover some of the blank spaces. I'll include some blinky leds and switches.

My humble current setup. I'm working on an LCD and a better sound system...never satisfied.

Whoa! just realized that somebody else here has the same desk! (It's not like they're mass produced or anything... :D)

My G5 is having the logic board replaced so I have to use my 12" PowerBook for the next week. :(

Power Mac G5 Dual 1.8, 256 MB Radeon 9800 XT, 2 GB RAM, 160 GB HDD, BT, Logitech MX510 mouse, 20" AL ACD, EyeTV 400 (also have an EyeHome in the lounge room), & an iBook G4 14" 1 GHz (first Mac got it last November). Before these machines I was running Linux/BSD on x86 since '94 (I still have 2 Linux boxes here, 1 is a gateway, the other is the GFs PC). Amiga before that, and before that a bunch of 8 bitters.

The desk is ugly but it does the job.

nice risc. another Aussie on the boards! :D

i also used to use a swiss ball for sitting on as well. that was pretty good. but i've got a bit slack now, i've reverted to the normal chair. :p

hey Pixeled_Apple, good to see another Aussie over here. :D but i wouldn't have known it if you didn't mention it... you might consider adding that to your Location, so we can all see it? ;)

hope your plans for a PowerBook work out. :) you could also post a pic of your current setup, then we can compare how much of an improvement it will be with a PowerBook sitting in place of your old compy.

yeah, nice and clean setup there... :) especially compated to mine...

or if you really want to see a messy room...i could post a pic of my bedroom. or maybe not... :D

How the hell did you get the keyboard wire to reach so far? The thing is damn short.

They are probably using the little extension connector cord. I remember getting one with my old powermac.

I bought the device you linked by mistake, when I actually needed the device you have pictured. So now I have both. They are functionally different but easy to mix up (at least I got them mixed up). I use the one you have pictured and the one you linked is still in its sealed plastic wrapping.

This is the link for the device you have pictured.

ohh thanks i couldn't find that one. I originally bought it for my printer but i got rid of one computer so it was just sitting around. I decided to find a use for it

I just moved so not everything is setup and clean. hehe

From left to right: Crappy colour SCSI scanner, G3ed 7100/80AV, Duo Dock II with a Duo 280c inside, Performa 580CD with MPEG system.

LC 575 on the floor waiting for setup.

From left to right: Stack of HP hubs, 400 MHz G4 tower on the floor, 15" MS AV display for the G4, my TAM, and a second 15" display for the G4.

On the fridge is my G3ed 7500 webserver.

You can't really see it, but the monitor on the left's desktop is a splashscreen fro Marathon. hehe

I'm working on filling the blue water jug with coins so I will never be able to move it.

My router and LocalTalk to Ethernet bridge is attached to the leg of my desk.

Like my framed Apple stuff? I have more to frame up. hehe

Like every good Mac freak my bookshelves have nothing but my odd collection of DVDs; Calvin and Hobbes/Dilbert/Far Side comics; Mac Addicts and Mac Users (off camera); SyQuest/Jaz/Zip/floppy media.

Also more hardware than books.

I use mine to share a keyboard and mouse with two computers: a 12" PowerBook running with its lid closed, and a PM G4 1.25. The monitor has two inputs (DVI and VGA) with a switch, so I don't need a KVM switch because I have that Belkin USB thing and the monitor has a switch built in.

(I'll post my setups soon.)

Can someone tell the people that use my photos from my site on eBay auctions to at least click my banner?

That stinks that people are stealing the pics from your website. That's why I watermark my eBay images. I guess watermarking website pictures would look dumb though.

Yeah, I don't have -that- much of a problem with it. I think it is kind of funny, but come on. They don't even ask me first.

I could complain to eBay, but... I'm lazy.

I learned a valuable lesson on ebay a short whole back (I never use them for big stuff anymore)..

but I sold a very expensive Swiss watch to a scam artist who fooled me with a fake escrow website to send my watch before I had payment (never again!)... then the jerk turned around and set up his own sale of the very same watch using MY PICS!!!

I tried in vein to contact ebay about it for days.. finally after some serious effort and calling their corporate office did I get someone to pull the ad off... but the watch is now MIA..

to good news is every one of these watches has serial numbers everywhere (case, movement etc..) and they all have to get service as some point, and it's only able to get done with the manufacturers assistance. They told me the minute it comes across their path, it will be seized.
