MY MACBOOK PRO.

go here :
http://flickr.com/photos/88756806@N00/sets/72057594081711620/

to look at more macbook picutres with notes.

Those Sony headphones... noise cancelling? Price? They look cool and I need a new set of headphones soon, so...

Man I want a glass desk so bad. I'm tired of my dorm's ******** wood desk that's too short and basically heats up my iBook even more.

Glass is a huge heatsink and I love it. Probably 10 degrees cooler on my coffee table when I'm back home.

Uhm, those sony headphones are cancelling headphones, they're really good, I think they're great but to some sound geeks they might think it's just okay. They were $50 from target...on sale...%30 off or something. I love theeem.

To calebjohnston:
I have a glass desk & it was $90 from staples...haha....it's one of those Z-lines.

Don't know why it's taken me so long to post this....

My system: 12" PowerBook, 20" ACD, Creatures, keyboard and mighty mouse

Close up of the keyboard and PowerBook (plus my lovely pink foofbag):

Ah, I got the Mini today, but I don't wanna post another photo since I just did two days ago. But here's a Flickr link:

Nice set-up, the Simpleshare drive seems like a neat idea for sharing your music. I know for me I have my music on two computers plus my iPod, and it takes up space on two harddrives, with the Simpleshare I could put it all on one and share between these two machines. Umm.. seems like a nifty idea.

Then again... I hope you have all your music backed up. Having my music on three different sources is like having two back-ups. I wouldn't mind having it on another harddrive, but maybe only for storage and not sharing.. Something else to think about. umm..

Nice set-up non-the-less...

Yeah, it's backed up on the 200GB drive next to it, actually. I actually lost about 20GB of music a few months back, and had to re-rip a ton of CDs, so I've been pretty careful about backing it all up now.

Here's my very first Apple setup. It's a Mac mini Core Duo 2GB/120GB (+iWork, QT Pro, Office & .Mac) with 23" HD ACD, BT Keyboard & Mouse and Soundsticks II, along with EyeTV EZ to give it the functionality of the TV it replaces.

I'm absolutely made up with it. What insanely great computers Apple make - I've been missing out.

That's a great setup! Where do you usually keep the remote? Would it stick to the top of the display, on the magnet that's supposed to hold the iSight mount?

Thank you! No other computer could positively enhance the look of my room like the Mac does.

I keep it by the side of my bed with the TV and Sky remotes - I can actually wake the mini from sleep, play music, video etc, or watch TV and put the mini back to sleep again without going anywhere near it. Fantastic, and so simple. I played with a Media Centre PC the other week, but for all it's functionality I'm far more impressed with Front Row. Now if only I could stop pushing the MENU button to watch that transition...

How can you put the mini to sleep with the remote? I've never heard of that function.

Nice Setup. Im Jealous!

Specs from the left :

Apple mac cube converted into a mini-itx pc fileserver. It has 2 x 250gb hard drives and stores all my movies etc.

Mac Mini with a lacie mini hard drive underneath, this is my gf's machine and has a back drive with 500gb for my file server.

Apple MacBook pro is my latest machine I only got it last friday , its the 2.0ghz Dual Core model with 2gb of ram a x1600 graphics card and a 100gb hard drive.

Xbox 360 is next, I've been mainly playing kameo and nfs:mw on this for the last few weeks.

Finally my pc, this is a custom built shuttle system with a P4 3.0ghz (running at 3.6ghz) 250gb hard drive, an X800XT gfx card and sony dvd writer.

There's a ipod video 30gb next to the MBP as well.

 WOW!

When in Frontrow, you hold down the "Play" button on the remote, and it'll put the Mac to sleep. Of course, on my Mini it then crashes Frontrow when you try to wake up, so you have to force a reboot. Fun times.

That certainly is indeed one sweet set-up! The ACD looks humongous next to the mini, but the mini still looks very impressive.

I just checked out your step-by-step build on this thing, and damn, I'm impressed. I've wanted to do something similar with my Cube now that the mobo is fried, but I haven't been sure where to begin. How does the Cube handle the task? I believe you said you were using the 600Mhz version of the board on your page - is this sufficiently fast? Are you running XP on it, or what?

Thanks, and sorry if it seems kinda off-topic. Rockin' setup, either way!

Hi

Thanks for the feedback always nice to hear what people think of my projects.

Yes its the 600mhz mini-itx board , it has 512mb of ram and runs windows xp sp2 , it runs this fine. Its no high speed gaming rig but for serving files and browsing the web its fine. I've the 1.2ghz version of the board and thats a bit quicker but with the cube I wanted a 100% fanless solution. Its almost totally unaudable and never gets turned off. It survived a lan party with 50 people leaching of it 24/7 without a single crash or failure of any kind.

Bought some new speakers because my old ones were ugly and crappy. Would you believe I got this Logitech X-530 5.1 setup for $60 Canadian total, brand new? Pretty sweet find if I say so myself! :) Too bad I have no good places to stick the rear ones. Oh well...

Damn! I just love the look of wide screen monitors. I gotta get one! It doesn't matter what brand it is, they all look so sexy.
