I've moved! Here's my setup in the new office; you can't see right now but the window looks out into a wooded ravine.

These and shots of my past workstations are available on my web site.

I'm particularly proud of the fact that you can't really see any wires on the floor :D . Also I just (as in 15 minutes ago) finally upgraded my C2D iMac from 1GB to 2GB of RAM and WOW what a difference!

You may notice I've got Logitech Z-5500 5.1 speakers, but they're only hooked up in 2.1 right now. I don't have a need for 5.1 anymore so a buddy of mine offered to buy them for me. I'm looking for good (but reasonably priced) 2.1 speakers that have clear, tight bass -- I hate muddy, boomy crap. Any recommendations (see this thread) are appreciated.

I love this picture. It makes me love to be a Mac owner - you just can't get a PC looking that nice.

Still not finished my setup but heres some photos i took on my phone. Enojoy!

EDIT - SORRY that they are the wrong way round. I'll repost using digital camera shortly. Once again sorry!

p.s. and I'm not even mentioning how good your Mac setup is...

Ahh the Griffin PowerMate. When I worked for an Apple reseller store, that was my favorite accessory to demonstrate. A very powerful tool for the rising Mac film/audio editor.

Very clean, I like it! How is the Logitech m/k combo working out for you? I can't decide whether I should pick up that set or get the apple bt combo....

I love the desk! Do those speakers allow you to get 5.1 sound from your Mac? Or does it only work when configured in 2.1?

I have the same 700m laptop!

I've got the same speakers, Logitech X-230s, at home and an extra set at my dorm. For the price, $30, they produce amazing sound. Although, I've been thinking about getting some JBL Creature IIs to replace the set I have at home and give my Logitechs to my parents or one of my friends.

Anybody know how the JBLs sound compared to the Logitech X-230s?

I know this can't beat paulinbognor, but when I return my discolored whining MB and upgrade to a Santa Rosa MBP with Leopard, plus get a 20" 1920x1200 Cinema Display with HDMI and a(n) Xbox 360 Zephyr with HDMI ouput and HD-DVD drive, we'll see who's laughing...:p (And either an iPod Hi-fi or the Altec Lansing FX-6021)

Something that I accidentally cut out: Slightly to the right of the MB are two tickets to a Dave Matthews concert in Copenhagen this March...:D

Why don't you take that to Apple and get a free case replacemnt?

Thanks! I love this Logitech set, I seriously considered the Apple set but ditched the idea because I hate the Mighty Mouse...not enough buttons. Also, the S530 mouse has volume buttons on it, which I thought was the dumbest idea ever when the keyboard has volume controls on it too...and then I started using them. Now it's one of my favorite features of the set. I almost never change the volume with anything other than the mouse. I kind of felt the same way about radio controls on steering wheels until I had a car with some...now I can't go without. The S530 keyboard feels really nice too...different, but really nice once you get used to it. Looks great to boot.

The desk was cheap, $50 at Staples. It has a shelf too that I don't have attached. It will get me through the next couple years until I feel like dropping some cash on a nice one.

The speakers will work in 5.1 if you get the proper 3.5-mm to optical adapter. The "headphone" jack on the back of the iMac can output analog (as it is right now for me) or digital with the right adapter/cable. However, I only listen to music and don't game or watch movies, so I only need 2.1.
