I know you can put OS X on the MSI Wind, but the headphone jack and webcam doesn't work. The Dell is the easiest to get OS X working on, but the keyboard is too awkward to use, IMO.

From what I've heard, and correct me if I'm wrong, OS X is a smooth install however like you said headphone, webcam, and also sound drivers don't work.

Actually not sure about the webcam, but i know the headphone jack and the Wi-Fi card doesnt work. For the Wi-Fi there is a dell wi-fi card that does work so you have to replace the one in the Wind.

Here is my netbook:

I use it for browsing in bed and at school. Going to replace it with a MB/Air/Pro when new ones are released...Maybe MB if it is 4lbs, but I want a Pro haha!

Age? Specs? Battery? Physical damage?

If you plan on unloading it, I "may" consider buying it off you. I say "may" because I may decide to NOT buy one at all, and just get a new MBP instead (much like yourself ;)).

Oops. I was gonna link to the original post in the "last purchase" thread but I'll post here for the convenience of others.

Age: Bought on September 25th, 2008. Been used maybe 5 times.
Specs:
- 1.6ghz atom processor
- 1 gb ram > i can up to 2gb if you want
- 80 gb hdd
- 6 cell battery
Battery: 6-cell so lasts 5+ hours with normal browsing, msn, etc.
Physical damage: None :) It is like brand new.

Lol i took it to school today and didn't even take it out of my bag - too busy browsing on my iPhone and reading my textbook.

Well let me know if you (or anyone else) may be interested.

You should look into getting that Wi-Fi card replaced for I *think* one form Dell (I say think because I'm not 100% sure that is what I read on the internet) I think it is 20$ or something. Google is your friend :)

looks like a fresh install. im sure the dock will be put on the side.

whats up with the huge bezels around the displays? cant they make the display take up almost all of the room on the lid? or is that the biggest they can make the screen due to specs?

That is awesome. Apple better get it together and come out with an Atom offering soon.

If I had known the Dell was so OSX friendly I probably would have never gone after the MBA. I could have gotten a second battery for the Dell and still been under 3lbs.

I am soooooooo close to getting one except for two things: it's a Dell, and I worry to keyboard is too small. I wish I could see one in person.

I'm not sure. The HP has speakers along the left and right sides of the screen, and it appears that they can't reduce the space along the top without changing the aspect ratio.

That's one thing. Notice how 9" versions of netbooks from EeePC, Lenovo, etc, are significantly cheaper than the 10" version.

Also, the bezel size may be exaggerated due to the small scale of a netbook.

Does the Dell wireless card work in the MSI, or are the connectors a different size or something?

Also, do things like 2 finger scroll work?

I think nearly everything is supposed to work on the Dell, but like I said, I had trouble typing on it. I used the Japanese version though, which has a smaller spacebar due to having more keys. May have other extra keys that I wasn't paying attention to. That's definitely not the version I'd get.

Hmm. Mac OS X on my netbook would be nice, but I guess the Aspire One isn't the greatest for it.

What exactly breaks when you install OS X on it? Sound? Wi-Fi? I don't think sound would be a big deal, but wi-fi would be, of course.

My eee-1000h; 1.6/2GB/80. Running OS X like a champ.

I've got everything but sound/mic (which we're working on), which includes 2-finger scroll, sleep, battery, wifi, USB, bluetooth, camera, backlight control, quartz/hardware acceleration enabled. :)

The WiFi antennae and stuff have to fit somewhere… ;)

What is battery life like?

Your netbook looks massive compared to the 15" MBP. The 1000H looks only slightly smaller than a MacBook.
