Its fast enough, not a monster. I tried moving over Ableton Live on it but it slowed down significantly with all plugins I had running. The battery adds quite a bit of bulk but I love that it props the computer up for better typing so Im good with it. I got the battery of ebay and received it in a parcel from hong kong marked "gift"
And yes I really do get about 8hrs out of it. I use it mostly for streaming spotify with airfoil and apex. And its great for watching movies when traveling. Also the keyboard feels great. 
I don't want to buy another Windows XP unit as I already have a tablet PC. But, I could see myself buying the Linux version (HP Mini 1000 Mi Edition) though.Soon...

is their a big difference between the 8.9 and the 10 inch one because i saw the 8.9 inch one and it was hot does the 10 inch look just as good. which one should i buy
eeepc 900A upgraded to 2 gigs of ram, running Crunchbang Linux " Cruncheee" version, great distro , everything works out of the box. I use it for war driving or browsing from bed. I have been trying to install OSX on it , leopard and tiger with no luck. if anyone has a good tutorial for a usb pendrive install, please send me a message.

I'm confused. I know the image URL says "HP Mini 1000" but that looks like one of HP's full-size laptops?
Yeah, thats not a Mini 1000. The Mini 1000 is the same as the Compaq 700 which I posted on the pervious page, which that isnt.
