Wth is a car doing in a phone thread
He was showing off his cell's camera. Look at the images, the camera really is great! (for a phone)
-posted via blackberry pearl

My thoughts EXACTLY. I've begun to withdraw from fancy phone. I've owned every variation of treo and every blackberry since the 7230 (literally) along with the motorola q, and other misc. windows based devices. It's simply too hard and time consuming to surf the web etc. on a phone- even a 500 dollar phone (which ended up being a HUGE piece of crap- the 700p) At any rate, I got the Motorola Krzr and I don't think it's worth the money, So I'm going with the Slvr L6. A simple NON-itunes candy-bar phone with a vga camera and bluetooth. Do you cant to know the best part? It's FREE :D

UPDATE: That was all before I found the BlackBerry Pearl :D

I have CDMA goodness.
Samsung a640
...I have my eyes on a Nokia E61. (Not that I'll ever get one...)

Why do you have your eyes on the E61? Nokia kinda dropped the bar with that one. Don't get me wrong, their multimedia phones are fantastic (N80 etc) however, for a smartphone its very similar to a BlackBerry (feature wise) yet you don't have the stable OS or the fantastic keyboard.

Here's my KRZR. It roacks and it is cool. get one.

No thanks :)

Another pearl user, dude, I love mine SOO much. Best smartphone I've ever owned (even better then the 8700 or 8703e)

@appleintelrock,
> When Camera Phones get to 5MP (to the MASS public, not just limited to Korea elites), then we'll see better pics. Furthermore we may even see some hurting brands in the Digital Camera space partner with Cellular Manufacturers (Nokia+Carl Zeiss) for specific models. That is when you must ask yourself ... I really want that 5MP HP Camera, but SE/NOKIA/SAMSUNG/ETC (take you pic; pun intended) also makes a cellular phone with Canon (extensible lens just 3 types) for within $100 more. And I need a new camera. Hmm.
Image quality is not simply based off MP's. My Nikon D2Hs is 4.1 MP and takes better pictures then the majority of DSLRs on the market. However, those images are really nice- coming from a phone.

Note for a mod: Feel free to merge these, My responses were supposed to be in one and that didn't happen. :(
-Thanks

how do you like the keys, i played with one at Compusa...keypad seems to mushy, btw it was a dummy one

I do a lot of typing on my devices so a good keyboard is a must. They keys are very responsive and much better then the ones on the Treo (I have large thumbs by the way.) The suretype keyboard works VERY well, and is nice to use.

Below is an in-depth review I posted on cnet:

I've owned almost every high end smartphone, and this one takes the cake. I've had the Treo (600, 650, 700p&w), BlackBerry 8700c (and 8703e) 7500 series and the 7100 series. I've also owned the motorola q, and about 5 windows mobile based smartphones. This is by far the best smartphone I've EVER used, and definitely the most affordable. For years I'd been in a bind, do I go with the ultra stable BlackBerry OS and forgo the multimedia features and other extras of the other smartphones? Or do I pick a device that does everything under the sun but crashes about twice a week (and has sub-par email support?) As a result of that dilemma, I was back and forth between the treo and blackberry for a long time. I went back and forth between the 8700 and 700 at least three times and finally settled on the 8703e because my treo refused to stop crashing. Then I stumbled across the Pearl. I have to admit, in the store I wasn't too sure wether I'd like it. Size wise it was wonderful, this phone is actually thinner then the Razr when shut. My problem however, lied in the sure type keypad. While it offered the familiar qwerty layout I wasn't sure about having two letters per key. I was wrong. I'd say 299/300 words are guessed perfectly and typing on it is very easy. All in all the is an incredibly thin, small, stable, feature-packed smartphone with a brilliant screen.
Nice Job RIM!

AppleIntelRock,

Nice selection on the Pearl. Here's a nice trick you can do. From the main screen hold down the ALT key and quickly type LGLG. You'll get a screen - which you can back out of simply - that'll display EVERY and I mean EVERY action you've done - save the ALT LGLG - that you clicked, selected, or the phone looking or receiving messages in Java security code. I dont own one just yet but trying to figure this out in detail.

Are you on BES server? If so is the BES 4.0/4.1?! Also are you able to take cam photos from the Pearl and send via email attachments?! This is seperate from the TMobile BIS online service. Many ppl on BES servers 4.0 even with HotFix 5 cannot send Pearl camera attachments.

Sony S710a

That is a great phone. I used to have the S700i (UK version) which was in silver and not as cool as the black. After a year I sold it and got a PDA phone but that only lasted a week until I got so annoyed with Windows Mobile that I got another S700i off eBay. I just replaced the S700 with the K610i whih has some very cool featuers but is a bit smaller than the S700. You can get some funny looks if you carry the S700i around with you in your pocket, especially if your trousers are just that little bit too tight!!

Yay, same exact phone I have. The screen is amazing and the camera isn't half bad either. And of course, its so thin its kinda scary. When I showed it to one of my friends his first response was "where is the rest of it?".

One quick question though. On the inside of the earpiece, does your x820 have what looks like dust or fuzz or hairs inside, kinda like strands of cotton? At first I thought mines was filled with dust, but its impossible to get rid of it, so I assume its part of the phone?

How about the multimedia functions though? I read that the music player interface wasn't that good. I would only replace my SonyEricsson with a phone that had a better music player (c'mon Apple iPhone!!!), but I'm curious to see what else is out there. Someone showed me their SE W850i and it looked very impressive: large screen slider phone with 4GB included, memory stick slot if that's not enough, and stereo bluetooth.

What's a cow doin' in here..Nokia 6255 mobile

Molly (wife's pet cow) loves the digi-pix as they cost nix so I can have some dollars left to buy her some lucerne hay..She comes up to our house ea day at sundown and demands a feed (has 54acres for herself and a couple of 'roos) Took pix with Nokia 6255 mobile and shot it to Mac G5 via Bluetooth..Gave it a nudge in CS-2 Photoshop

Yup the screen is amazing ,dont know bout the camera though I´m not too impressed with it but the size makes me forget about everything else. I havent noticed any hairs or any dust yet but my phone is brand new pretty much. How about hairline scratches on the display? Is it a nano? Does it scratch easily?

Here's my Sharp 903SH with 3.2MP camera, GSM 900, 1800, 1900 & UMTS (3G).

Okay, I lied. Nokia 6265i is the phone I have dreamed of. but I actually have a Samsung SPH-a460. It's a great little phone. Easy enough that I still ca use it even if the LCD is broken(which it is,i think it may be a loose connector.)

im not going to bother to post a picture of my phone, because just about everyone on this forum should no what a Sidekick 3 looks like. it has to be my favorite phone i have ever owned from the many.
